Transformers all the way, although admittedly it is because the Gobot toys would break if you breathed on them

    2. Ricco on August 23, 2011 11:10 am

Dude, Go-Bots are the Transformers retarded cousins who’s mom had to beg Optimus to “let their cousins play too”, that’s the only reason they even HAD a show.

      • Alisha Mynx on August 23, 2011 2:33 pm

At least they weren’t Rock Lords.

        • Ricco on August 23, 2011 2:44 pm

The on He-Man was cool ;-)

    3. The Great NateO on August 23, 2011 11:36 am

Wow, really? My vote it Transformers 100%.

Not only were the toys better. They had a movie in the 80’s, the theme song was better (They gave it the 80’s rock treatment for the movie), better stories, cooler transforming noise. And I always hated the loud noises the GO-BOTS make when they walked, not sure how they could sneak up on anyone. They also talked louder when they whispered too.

      GO-BOTS just GO Home.

Hahaha This is awesome. Poor Go-bots :S. Transformers all the way man!

    5. Mela on August 23, 2011 11:50 am

Right now, I’m actually shocked that the Transformers don’t have a total sweep. Even I didn’t like the Gobots, and I just used Transformers as my Barbies’ pets (cuz they were smaller).

    6. diagnull on August 23, 2011 11:51 am

      Is this a joke?

Transformers changed from awesome vehicles to awesome robots.
Go-Bots went from a pile of poop to a pile of different shaped poop.

Although, Cy-Kill *is* an awesome name.

RRAARRRR!! GRIMLOCK NO LIKE PUNY KNOCK-OFF TOYS!!!

    8. Seneca on August 23, 2011 12:05 pm

The Gobots and Transformers were toys that decided who were the haves and the have nots. If your daddy was on welfare you got hotwheels. If your dad had a job and barely made enough to get by you had gobots. If your daddy had a good paying job you had transformers.

    9. Russ Catt on August 23, 2011 12:23 pm

I remember my first Transformers toy: The always-amusing Starscream.
I remember owning a Go-Bot, but couldn’t remember its name for the life of me.
That’s all I need to know to make this decision.

    10. Allen on August 23, 2011 12:38 pm

I can’t believe this is even a question. The Transformers show was light years ahead of the Go-Bots.

    11. Hotimus Prime on August 23, 2011 12:45 pm

Who are the 6.18% knuckleheads that voted for Go-Bots? Lol. They’re voting privileges should be revoked!!!! SMH!!!!

    12. brenton8090 on August 23, 2011 12:57 pm

      Really, Stephen? Really?

I almost voted for Go-Bots just out of spite.

      Almost.

    13. Hotimus Prime on August 23, 2011 12:59 pm

And somehow the votes for Go-Bots keeps going up?! Lol. Was 6%…now it’s 7%. WTH?!

      • Ricco on August 23, 2011 1:04 pm

Those are pity and spite votes, add the odd drunken guy that stumbled into the website looking for XXX parodies too.

        • Alisha Mynx on August 23, 2011 2:31 pm

Wow, that IS one of the better pictures. How sad.

          • Alisha Mynx on August 23, 2011 2:31 pm

            Whoops, wrong spot to reply.

    14. SomeDude on August 23, 2011 1:03 pm

wow that was a land slide must be because of that terrible picture of the go-bot

      • Ricco on August 23, 2011 1:08 pm

No, that’s one of the better ones actually.

        • Alisha Mynx on August 23, 2011 2:32 pm

Wow, that IS one of the better pictures. How sad. (Argh, responded on wrong reply originally)

    15. Galactoss on August 23, 2011 1:14 pm

One of the things I really like about Transformers is the way they thought about the different teams and groupings. Especially in the early G1 days the toys almost tell you who they are. If it’s a car, it’s an Autobot. Those Dinobots don’t look like anyone else, I bet they don’t get along with anybody. Jetfire’s a fighter plane even though he’s an Autobot? I bet he used to be a Decepticon!

I didn’t ever get a sense of that from watching Go-Bots, it just seemed like one arbitrary bunch of robots against another. And Scooter. Maybe the cartoon didn’t do the franchise justice, the Transformers cartoon was awful relative to the comics too. Give me complex plotting, pyrrhic victories, the Decepticons sometimes winning, politicking on both sides, Grimlock with a brain in his head and TARGET: 2006 any day. Wreck and rule!

    16. Dragos_kai the snarky review guy on August 23, 2011 2:42 pm

I voted Go-Bots merely to be the outsider, TAKE THAT YOU FOOLS!

    17. Jimmy on August 23, 2011 3:38 pm

      hipster vote for go-bots

    18. Xaxelbrax on August 23, 2011 4:47 pm

I didn’t like either, but even I know that the Transformers were the better of the two.

    19. Xybec Katta on August 23, 2011 5:38 pm

Transformers, because even my parents knew Transformers > Go-Bots. Besides, Hasbro ended up buying the Go-Bots to shut them down.

    20. Belmont on August 23, 2011 8:07 pm

Transformers, was the one I voted on, I remember both series watchin GOBOTS at my aunt’s house, watching Transformers at my grandparents and at home. The Transformers for me was the Dinobots, Hound, Trailbreaker, Ironhide, Optimus Prime, and Jazz. Back in the day as a kid I thought Optimus Prime was the better leader of the Autobots than Leader-One and the Guardians. With Transformers you have better storyline even with the villains with Starscream trying to pull a Cesar on Megatron. Cy-Kill and his Renegades going against the Decepticons would be like a cover from Transformers comic with Megatron standing victorious on the carcass of Cy-Kill. The comic was Megatron’s Origins.

    21. Norberg01 on August 23, 2011 8:20 pm

I owned a few Go-Bot toys before I ever owned a Transformers toy (possibly before I knew that Transformers existed). Then, I got Optimus Prime and Starscream for my birthday and my Go-Bots got shipped to the bottom of the toy box. Then, I got my first Godaikin robot and my Transformers started to look a little more Go-Bot-Y.

    22. applejack1310 on August 23, 2011 9:05 pm

Transformers all the way. Unless it’s Michael Bay Transformers. If it’s THOSE Transformers, I’ll opt for the bullet in my scrotum, thanks.

    23. Mark on August 23, 2011 9:42 pm

A lot of the Go-Bots toys were actually pretty nice. The show was total crap, and Transformers were clearly superior, but I voted for Go-Bots anyway out of pity and nostalgia for the toys. :)

    24. Oldcomicfan on August 24, 2011 8:13 am

Let’s see – we have a choice between a cheaply made, poorly animated cartoon show with stupid plots whose only reason to exist was to sell crummy toys to brainwashed children… and another heaply made, poorly animated cartoon show with stupid plots whose only reason to exist was to sell crummy toys to brainwashed children. Gosh. Why does this remind me of Congress and the upcoming elections?
