    Press Release

Famed Futurama voice actors John DiMaggio and Billy West, along with the creative talent behind the cult hit animated series Undergrads, have joined the star-studded line up for the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo.

Billy West, known for voicing the hilarious yet homely character Fry in Matt Groening’s series Futurama is also known for voicing Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny in Space Jam as well as Stimpy in Ren and Stimpy.  Billy will be joined by fellow Futurama cast mate John DiMaggio, known primarily for voicing the cantankerous robot Bender. Other roles to his credit include Dr. Drakken in Kim Possible, Vulkanus in Ben 10, Adventure Time with Finn & Jake and the Joker in Batman: Under the Red Hood.

Also attending the convention will be Undergrads creator Peter Williams, along with two of the writers from the same series: Josh A. Cagan and Andy Rheingold. The show quickly developed a cult following for its archetypal portrayal of college life and was aired internationally on various networks.

“Voice actors like Billy West and John DiMaggio have such great presence – they’ve voiced some of the most memorable characters in animation.  The talent that they both have is electric – it’s really amazing to experience, “says Event Director Kandrix Foong.  “Undergrads has become a cult hit over the past ten years and we’re very excited to have Peter, Josh and Andy as part of our animation line up for this year’s Calgary Expo.”

The guests from both Futurama and Undergrads will be participating in panels and workshops throughout the weekend of the convention which runs from April 27-29, 2012.

The Calgary Expo is a non-profit organization that showcases the incredible talent of comic creators, artists, actors, voice actors, musicians, writers and pop culture icons from all over the world.

Guests for the 2012 Calgary Expo currently include Robert Englund (Nightmare on Elm Street), Amanda Tapping (Stargate: SG-1, Sanctuary), Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, 24), James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Adam West (original Batman and Family Guy) and voice actor Tara Strong (My Little Pony: Friendship is magic and The Powerpuff Girls), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes, Scream 4), Adam Baldwin (Serenity, Firefly, Full Metal Jacket), John Noble (Fringe and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King), Jasika Nicole (Fringe), Dave Prowse (Star Wars, A Clockwork Orange) Tom Felton (Harry Potter 1-8), Richard Hatch (Battlestar Galactica), Gil Gerard (Buck Rogers in the 25th Century) and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: The Next Generation).

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo will be held April 27 – 29, 2012 at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Advanced tickets are now on sale at www.calgaryexpo.com
