Image Comics has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of titles arriving next week. In this installment Loaded Bible 3, PVP 38, Mix Tape Volume 1, Lions, Tigers, and Bears Volume 2, and the Walking Dead Volume 7.
Holy deforestation! Image Comics dropped off 10 sneak peeks for titles shipping next week. The massive preview includes Brit 1, Lucha Libre 1, Strange Cases 1, Sorrow 1, Dust 2, Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer 4, Bad Planet 3, Lions, Tigers, and Bears Vol. II 4, Strange Embrace 4, and The Pro.
Lots of new series kicking off, I should have titled this one Image Sneak Peek of the Week: The Big One Edition.
Lions, Tigers and Bears volume 1 by Mike Bullock and Jack Lawrence has won the prestigious Angouleme Discovery Prize for Younger Audiences at the Angouleme International comics Festival.
The Discovery Prize is the European equivelent to the American Eisner Award.
“The magnitude of just how prestigious this is hasn’t sunk in yet,” stated Bullock, creator and writer of the book. “I’m excited and honored that we won, and very thankful the book is reaching that many new readers.”
Lions, Tigers and Bears Volume 1 Trade Paperback is available now for $12.99, if you can find it. I say if, because I’ve been to three different stores in three different cities, and over the past two months, the stores have been sold out each time. If you really want to pick up a copy you should probably list it on your next Diamond order.

The issue that peaks my interest this week, is Lions, Tigers & Bears, which has had a lot of success lately with the trade, selling out in three of the comic shops I visited last week. And if you haven’t read True Story Swear to God, then you are really missing out. I’ve been following this series for a couple of years, and it is funny, sad, and romantic all at the same time. Readers just can’t seem to get enough of the wildly popular LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS books. With the first miniseries selling out of every consecutive issue and the first printing of LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS, VOL. I TP selling out as well, it only made sense for Image Comics to release a second printing of the book.
