If only this were a real movie.

Unfortunately, the new trailer for the upcoming Terminator Salvation trailer only features Christian Bale yelling at cyborgs and robots.

Guess the company really doesn’t want to work with Bale on any future projects. Still funny though.

Even with the opening weekend of the Olympics, fans still flocked to theaters to see Warner Bros. Dark Knight.  While Pineapple Express came in a close second, the Chris Nolan flick brought in an additional $26 million over the weekend.  This brings the grand total to $441.5 million, meaning the Batman film has passed Shrek 2 to become the third highest domestic grosser of all time.

If that has you sitting up and taking notice, get ready for a major head trip – by this time next week, The Dark Knight should bring in enough money to pass Star Wars for the number 2 spot.

I completely let this bit of news slip past me yesterday, but it is a big day for Warner Bros. as it got to thumb its nose at Sony as The Dark Knight passed the $400 million mark in just 18 days, and should have passed Spider-Man overnight.

If the box office tickets continue to roll in, The Dark Knight could reach the $500 million making it the second highest grossing title of all time, just behind Titanic.

I think everyone saw this coming after the spectacular opening night the Dark Knight had in theaters.  It’s official now, The Dark Knight has officially pwned Spider-Man in the box office, taking in an estimated $155.3 million over the weekend.  Even at two hours and forty-one minutes, the Dark Knight was able to best the third installment of the wall crawler series by $4 million.

“This is a career-capper for anybody who works on a film like this in our business,” Warners distribution president Dan Fellman said. “It’s a great ride, and it’s just beginning, Most of the big summer films have already come out, so we have a great play time ahead of us.”

Is the Dark Knight perfect?  No, there are plenty of flaws that can be pointed out.  Is it fun and entertaining?  Oh yes.  If you haven’t given Warner Bros. your $10 yet, you really ought to catch this movie in the theater.  It is big, it is loud, and it is a thrill ride you won’t get sitting at home watching it on your 65-inch plasma.   As we have seen this summer, and in fact all year, movies tend to have a major drop off going into the second weekend.  I would be surprised if Dark Knight had and more than a 20% drop at the box office, and wouldn’t be surprised if the numbers rose a little bit given the numerous showings, fan hype, and the awesome performance by Heath Ledger.

People around the world have been wetting themselves in anticipation (or so I hear, I wouldn’t know from any first hand experience – I swear) for the release of Warner Bros.’  Dark Knight movie.  Today’s the day, and with screenings beginning at 6:00 AM in some cities, Dark Knight is priming itself to be the biggest opening weekend box office of all time – it just has to beat Spider-Man 3.

brycehoward.jpgAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, Bryce Dallas Howard is in negotiations to play John Connor’s wife in the fourth installment of the Terminator movies.

Howard last starred as Gwen Stacy in “Spider-Man 3″ and next stars in the “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,” based on a long-forgotten screenplay by Tennessee Williams.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins stars Christian Bale as John Connor, and is being directed by McG. As wild and over the top McG’s editing and directing style are, I’m very interested to see what he comes up with in this fourth movie.
