I was working at my LCS for store credit for the past few months. I replaced a guy who still worked there part-time but needed to get another job to make his bills. So today he decides that his job at Sam's Club sucks and without any notice I get shit-canned.

I mean, this guy has told me himself that he is 'burnt out' on comics and just this morning he told a guy that 'he wouldn't buy that crap' when a new customer asked about a Batman trade. Even if it IS a poor read, he didnt even offer something else or anything, just told him that a product in the store he is working at is 'crap'.

What a tool. Really bummed me out.

I'm just pissed and wanted to vent somewhere. Thanks.

Bummer. Maybe he'll do an equally sucky job at the LCS, and the owner will decide he was better off at Sam's Club.

Did I go off on a rant in one of the shows about crappy LCS employees?  This dick sounds like one of the leading factors as to why so many people don't go to the comic book stores.

Yea you did Stephen.

What pisses me off worse than anything is that the owner has told me numerous times that he would rather have me there, that I sell more comics than the other guy and that I act like I enjoy being there more.

Yet he still gives this guy my hours knowing that by his own admission he will hurt sales.

New previews in yesterday and I ask my replacement if he is going to thumb through it. He looked at me like I was a retard. Shouldnt you want to know whats coming out I ask him. He says I'll see it when we get it on the shelfs.

What an f'n tool

Sounds like you need to do a little backstabbing and get the guy fired, and you hired...

I always take the higher road in situations like this and let karma balance everything else out later.

I feel sad for the guy actually. He couldnt hold his job at Sam's casue he's such a screw up. People like that you give enough rope and they usually hang themselves. I'll just sit back and pick up the pieces afterward.

But if you're doing hits on people now, Stephen, let me know some numbers here Smiley

i'm sad to say that you are gonna have to be a dick and report him to the manager. more so you told us the manager thought you were a good employee and you are getting screwed on your hours.

gotta think of yourself once in a while.

I know what your saying, Hermit but read my other post: the manager KNOWS this guy is a screw-up and just doesnt care.

It may stem from the fact that this guy was here when the current owner/manager bought the store. Its like he's a piece of furniture.

Or maybe there's something I dont know. Maybe this guy has the owner by the balls with something.

Either way it sucks but the compassion of my fellow Spoiler-ites makes me feel better.
