So am I the only one that hadn't realized that all ring-wearing lantern types wear their rings on their middle fingers rather than their ring fingers? This must be a company-wide edict and not a particular artist's idea, since both the blackest night stuff and the new GL animated dudes wear them on the flippingyouthebird finger.

Yeah, it's been that way since the first appearance of good ol' Hal McJordan Esq.

I can't say I'm all too surprised after all, traditionally one only wore a ring a one's ring finger if they were married or at least engaged to be...  And being the eternal bachelor maybe it served a second purpose reminding people that he was staying single?
