today i want to talk about this god of pulp/noir/crime stories. i read a few of his stuff over the years. his daredevilrun was very good, not as good as bendis run, but good. captain america was a revelation and am happy as a clam every time a new volume is released.
the thing that put it appart from the others is the love that he shows for his craft. the series Criminal is a perfect example. i bought the TPB and like the stories a lot, only wanting more and more. i recently learned that, in the single issues, he put bonus stuff at the end. not just sketches and scripts that nobody cares about, but movie and book suggestions, article about the genre and short stories.
i was sad when i learne he was stopping the series for a while to do another one. wouldn't you know, the new series, called Incognito is in the same vein as Criminal, but there's a guy with super powers. not a super-hero that we already know, but a new one, in another town. and he's doing the same thing with this series by putting very interesting bonus stuff at the end of the issues.
i never, or very rarely, buy single issues, but in this case i had to make an exeption. i'm currently hunting down every single issues of Criminal and just added Incognito to my pull list. definitely worth 3.99$.
to the MSP crew, you should do a book of the week on Criminal vol. 1 to 4.

I am going to have to track down the trades of Criminal. I have heard good things, but I haven't read them yet.

yea
Criminal just grabbed me very fast. Incognito seems to be taking longer to get somewhere. Or maybe I'm jaded by the prior

maybe when you get to read it all in one sitting. i read #1 and 2 back to back and it was awesome.
that's the reason i rarely buy singles issues.

I reread the first 2 issues
I think it may be the super hero thing holding it back for me
It was better this time around though and I plan on keeping with the book.
I just feel that criminal was better than this is
has anyone read Sleeper? I've heard that is better than criminal

i read the first trade and it's really good. the trades are not cheap though, even if they were released way before the price rise, they cost a little more than usual. the first trade is cheaper though. some kind of incentive to make us buy the rest of the series.
anyway, it's worth it.
