Stephen has posted a couple of articles about comics coming to iTunes via an app called iverse.  I have downloaded Return of the Shadowhawk #1 from Image Comics.  This issue was free, and I think the next issues will be around $0.99 (but I could be wrong).

I just wanted to see how this iverse app would work with my iTouch and if it was worth reading some comics on here.  And the short of it is that I like it.  There are a few things that I would like to be changed, but overall it works.

It doesn't show you the whole page at one time, but shows a single panel at a time.  If it is a larger panel then it shows part of the panel that has text on it.  Everything is very legible, but b/c it doesn't show the whole page I think it takes away from some of the art.  With that said, there was one full page spread that it displayed the whole page first and then the next 4 or 5 pages were zoomed in views around the text of that full page spread.  This worked ok, but I would rather see the full page and then I could tap on a section to zoom into text.

One other complaint is that it must be viewed in Landscape.  It works for the most part, but I am sure there would be times, when a panel would look better in Portrait instead of Landscape.

Overall, I think this is a good start and if the prices remain under $1 then I will probably purchase some of my comics this way, in addition to purchasing hard copies.  Of course it will probably be a long while before Marvel uses this means since they just started their digital comic division, but hopefully DC will look at this as a possible means of distribution.

BTW, there are other comics avialable so I would recommend checking it out on your iTunes App store.
