Post your characters here.

Please take your time and review with each other your characters, their abilities, and their origins.

Preferably, we would like at least 1 of each role filled (Defender, Striker, Leader, Controller)

Looking forward to everyone's characters!

Things I would like to play but I can take what ever slot is available for the teams sake.

Defender - Pixie Paladin
Striker - Thri-Kreen Ranger (beast master)
Leader - Either Bard or Atrificer Not sure on rance yet
Controller - Seeker Probably Goblin.

I'm not set on any of these and if non of these fit the party's group i can roll someone else. Leader i've put the lest thought into so far but playing a healer is often fun.

Actually for Leader it would be either Shardmind Bard or Warforged Artificer.

Wow, you like making waves, huh? Lol Cheesy

Well, the Pixie is easiest to incorporate, so let's go over that first;

A Pixie Paladin can be from the Fyral'ean Empire as a personal guard to the Empress, following the teachings of Corellon, patron deity of Elvenkind, or he/she can be a member of the Verdant Sentinels, a sect of mystics and warriors dedicated to the preservation of nature, and follow the dogma of Melora, goddess of the wilderness and sea. Also, a Pixie Paladin could be a servant to the Eladrin Tamyr Fallorn of the Hiza Union, and be a follower of Ioun, the goddess of arcane study and knowledge.

A Thri-kreen, Shardmind, or Warforged would most likely be a Veteran of the War locked in a hibernation, stasis, or shutdown found by a scavenger or salvage team from one of the Guardians. Regardless of which one, this Veteran realizes that their War is no more, and to continue hostilities would be most unwise. Alternately, a Warforged character could be constructed by a member of one of the Artificer's Guilds, but might be unrecognizable from those in the history texts.

A Goblin Seeker would probably have fled the destructive tendencies of the Kingdom of Angea to the naturally rich environment of the Fyral'ean Empire, communing with the primal spirits in one of the tree villages, tending to keep away from the other races (just asking, is there a reason for the standard Goblin and not a Hobgoblin?)

These are only suggestions, and you are free to create your character as you see fit.

Addendum-
There are two things I forgot to mention;
1.) Cowboy Centaur has already outlined his character to me, a Minotaur Barbarian from the Kingdom of Angea. So, he's essentially got the Native to Magnus background, and has taken the primary striker role.
2.) There are two other source books available to pick from, which I forgot in my hastiness: Player's Handbook Races: Dragonborn and Player's Handbook Races: Tieflings

Excuse the questions but I am reading everything on my phone and keep losing connection, so may have missed something.

Are we doing point buy for stats? 20 points? or going old school? Smiley
Is the system magic heavy or light? If so are you running inherent bonuses or straight up item bonuses for things (not important at the moment but something to keep in mind)
Are supplemental powers / feats from Dragon magazine permissible generally, on a case by case basis, or not at all?
Are any of the 'essentials' feats available.i.e. the improved versions of the expertise feats.

Genasi isn't listed in the races list, is this as typo? as I mentioned, one of the options I was looking at was a Genasi Warlord.

So far I have been thinking of either a watersoul Genasi Warlord (Nautilus), a Halfling Rogue (Magnus) or a Dwarf Invoker / Warlock Hybrid (Seraphim)

Genasi is Playable just not listed in is re listing of races. Thri-Kreen wasn't listed either but it's one of the races I'm interested in. Bottom line is you can play just about which ever race get's your fancy but Eothr might have a little hand is saying where you hail from.

Also if you go Hybrid I would recommend waiting till to see if we had 2 controllers since being a hybrid makes you a tad weaker by splitting 2 classes at least in the beginning. That's only my personal recommendation though.

Also for my pixy the armor is going to be made my size sheild and everything. The Sword is going to be normal size and I plan on using "Shrink" to keep it my size and be able to keep the D10 for damage. The character sheet for the character builder wont let me choose to do that and thinks I'm wielding it in 2 hands. Of course that's assuming I end up as the Defender Role.

Not a problem, answering questions is my job as DM Smiley

We are doing point buy; remember to declare which variable race ability bonus you are choosing
Magic items are going to be prominent after Lvl. 1
Dragon Magazine Annuals allowed (not individual issues)
I would need to approve any Essentials options outside of the Heroes of the Feywild
Genasi are allowed, I just forgot in the post after the Sources Available, lol

I would encourage you towards the Genasi Warlord as primary leader for the party (and like RevSor mentioned, I would ask you to hold off on Hybrids until every major role was filled)

As I've made clear, I'm still incredibly new to D&D so feel free to let me know if I'm incorrect on something,

Vold Crookednose is a Minotaur Barbarian, from the frozen mountains of Angea, of the rageborn build who carries a massive mace crafted from a mammoth tusk. His hide armor is stripped from the remains of the same creature.
He's a tall lanky beast more resembling a Texas longhorn than the typical short horned labarynth haunting Minotaur with a reddish brown head and a white body with reddish brown spots. His right horn is broken off, and his muzzle has a noticeable curve to the left, making him favor his right side and affecting his balance. (Low dex and acrobatics)
His wildly hairy armor, combined with his bony frame gives him an incredibly wild appearance.

He's a grim and fatalistic guy who prefers action over talk. His tribe handled personal disputes by the one who killed the other in a fair fight won the argument, and his behavior in civilized society defers to that.
His tribe revered their children and his attitude reflects their attitude, regardless of species. Having never seen anyone like a halfling, gnome, or dwarf however, he'd probably mistake them for a child and try to give them a horsey ride before they have time to object. He has a strong dislike for non-human races, but enjoys the company of humans, elves and Eladrin.

His arrival to the gathering of the guardians is his first time out of the mountains, and the first time he's met a race that wasn't a band of human traders, or a rival marauding band of orcs or goliaths, and CERTAINLY the first time he's been anywhere remotely civilized. His plans and ambitions are his own to know, but he'd probably talk to anyone who struck up a conversation, he's just so dang terrifying to look at no one's dared to speak to him yet. He'll probably be in a dive bar drinking for free as the need for currency never occurred to him, and the bartender's happy to keep serving him their cheapest beer in the hope Vold doesn't kill anyone.

On a more technical level, for the ability scores, in addition to dividing 20 points to strength, dex, ect, do I add the additional +2 srength and +2con/wis to his ability score or his modifier scores?

His mace will actually be a maul, for 2d6 damage, mace in name only as I wanted it to be two handed.

Still working him out a bit as far as feats and stuff goes, just wanted to have something out there.

So essentially, I'll be starting out with base 10 for stats, and have 24 points to divide between them, 4 of which must be split between str and con, cool, thanks man

Not quite, sorry for not checking in earlier.

Each character starts out with five 10s and one 8 across their abilities. When you add points, the number of points required to go up increases. Example, from 10 to 13 requires 3 points, but from 13 to 14 requires 2 more points. It's usually best to go with an array provided by the PHB. Gimme a bit, and I'll post some arrays suited for your build.

The Min-Max build is 18, 14, 11, 10, 10, 8; for Vold, this array would come out as Str 20, Con 16, Dex 12, Wis 10, either Int or Cha as the 8, last one a 10.

Alternately, a balanced specialist build is 16, 16, 12, 10, 10, 10; your primary and secondary stats match, your Dex should get the 12 to improve initiative and Reflex, and all others 10.

One that I prefer for most characters is 16, 14, 13, 12, 12, 8. This gives you a least a +1 bonus to 3 tertiary abilities, which helps defenses and skills. For a Rageblood Barbarian, the dump stat (the 8 ) is usually Int or Cha.

Remember to add your Minotaur Racial bonuses after selecting your abilities

Crap, I'm an idiot sometimes...

The Dex on Min-Max would only be 11, not 12
