This is the biggest factor in gearing your wizard to be something other than the stereotypical "Merlin" character, IMHO.

Its all about what you desire your character to be.

I agree with Gaumer. Start with how you envision your character and build stats around him, instead of the other way around.

What sort of guy is he?

Well, first off, he's only 105 yrs. old. Not quite an adult yet, he's a little oblivious to subtlety and sarcasm, but very passionate about "right and wrong". I'm thinking he's either Evocation focused or Conjuration focused, giving up on Necromancy and Illusions.

I *heart* Conjuration as a specialty school. Just personal preference though.

Evocation is always powerful. Such a school often makes me think the character is focused on empowerment; being able to instantly dominate a situation with his magic.

Is he like that?

Cleo is up. I have yet to hear anything from Red. His character is not dead and his dissapearance is vital to the plot.

I think it's kind of a mix. Sometimes he'll fling a lightning bolt and others he'll summon a timber wolf or dire bear to aid him.

So I think it's Conjuration specialization, with a dab of Evocation.

Ok I have a question that requires my fellow nerds to help me out. If i were to take Brew potion at 3rd level to be able to make various potions how does one go about making Flame Arrow Oil? I always got confused about the crafting my own stuff part of the game.
