Twitter was abuzz (or would that be a-tweet?) with news of Bob Denver's death today.  People were expressing sadness to hear this.

One small problem:  He died a few years ago.  Yet people were spreading the news with links to old articles and obits as if it were fresh from the presses.

I'm very tempted to spread tweets about the death of President Lincoln.  I think these people have a right to know!   Cheesy

That would be pretty hilarious esp if people really don't catch it. I just went over to the feed and saw one of the links. The pic has a date almost right under it clearly stating 2005.

That's sad. Not as sad as the bursts of people tweeting with incredulity that Titanic actually happened when the movie was rereleased recently, but it's still pretty sad.

I never know if I want to laugh or cry when that happens.  My stepsister was freaked out when we had watched a Titanic documentary when the movie first came out and she realized it wasn't a behind-the-scenes of the movie.  I still haven't let her live that down (her kids even tease her about it now).
