I saw this yesterday. It was a lot of fun.

Cliches abound, typical script, acceptable direction, stiff acting...with lots of explosions, a ton of funny lines (mostly because they were so bad), and all the nostalgia and respect for the best action stars of earlier years.

If you liked the first "The Expendables" and will gladly accept this movie for being exactly (and only) what it seems to be, it is worth seeing.

I thouroughly enjoyed the first movie of the series.

I should try to make it all the way through the first one again. Didn't have much luck the first time.

Ex 2 is fun, because of its crapness. An improvement on the first one. The opening scene is just genius Smiley
I hear they're looking for Clint, Harrison and Segal for 3. And there are rumours of an all girl one too. Bring on Cynthia Rothrock.

The Expendables movies have to be taken for being exactly what they are. Anything else would leave room for only ridicule and disappointment.

As for Cynthia Rothrock, my martial arts instructor and his wife know her well and used to train with her. It would be really great to see her in the next film, even though she isn't as well known as the current stars.

Yep, I saw it opening weekend, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The poor critic response (a 51 on metacitic) remind me of the poor critical reception seen by many action movies, including Predator or The Transporter.
