Let's say you found out you had six months to live. You'll feel as well as you usually do until the last day.

You are given a "Make-A-Wish" sort of deal from some foundation. The wish has to be possible and reasonable for such a foundation (ie, you couldn't wish for world peace or to have the U.S. start universal healthcare).

The wish can be a day-long thing or can span up to a week of your remaining time. What would be your wish?

Things that come to mind for me:

1) Hang-gliding, including the required instruction.

2) To be given a main event match on WWE Raw. I would want to face someone like CM Punk. I would want to spend the day (and night if I could talk her into it) with AJ and have her at ringside cheering me on. I would also want to have anyone who chants "What?" at me to be removed by security, preferably after being tasered.

3) Spend the week with Joss Whedon, who will collaborate with me to create a concept and script to be made into a feature film. If I could see the film before I die, that'd be awesome.

How about you?

Sure am! I was just watching a movie about some dying kid and it inspired the topic. Thank you for your concern though.  Smiley

And who would DM this final masterpiece?   Wink

Your later wishes sound like fun. Good times.

I was going to say I would wish for Marvel to allow me to create a comic book character and start publishing that character. ... But Marvel would never get it right.  Roll Eyes

Rodrigo, duh.

I think I'd probably crib the Joss Whedon idea or go with something completely different.

Something random like getting to sit down and talk with an author I like to find out how a series I love is going to end. Possible choices include Jim Butcher, George RR Martin, and Brandon Sanderson.

Rodrigo for DM. Good choice.

I would also like to talk to George RR Martin and find out how everything is supposed to wrap up. I will take the secret to my grave...as will he.   Roll Eyes

Funnily enough, he's already told the two in charge of the HBO show how things end. That way if he does, heaven forbid, kick the bucket before he's done writing things, they can finish.

Oh, that's a relief then. I was kinda worried about that. Of course, I hope he lives a long and fruitful life.

Gaumer's amusement park wish sounds fun too.

I'd still like to do something with comic books. Maybe I could get Marvel to put together a new team of my choice and run a limited series or something.

I got a VCR for my wish when I was going through treatment for Leukemia, but this was back in the early/mid 80's when they were still an expensive item.  It was a top of the line VCR, too, with all sorts of features that many didn't have (slow motion play, multiple speeds of fast forward, etc.).  It cost more back then than my last computer cost just a few years ago.  And it wasn't just a VCR that I got, I also got a bunch of VHS movies and a few gift certificates to buy more.

If I were making the wish today, I'd wish for one of these:

- A visit to the Doctor Who sets, preferably the TARDIS console room set.  Even if no filming is going on and none of the actors are there, it would be a dream come true just to stand where an incarnation of one of my lifelong heroes has stood.  And it seems a lot more plausible than trying to get onto an episode or help write one.

- A visit to Japan.  Nowhere in particular, it has just been one of my dreams to go to Japan.  If I could manage a chance to go to an animation studio or go see where they film Super Sentai or Kamen Rider, I'd love that, but mostly I just want to be anywhere in Japan.

- A visit with Weird Al.  I like his music, and I've always wanted to meet him as well as thank him for making me smile.

- A chance to leave my mark on the geeky stuff I like.  I don't care what it is, an event in an MMO, a chance to make my comic with help from professional artists, a chance to write a line of of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, being turned into a Cyberman on Doctor Who, whatever.  As long as it is connected to something I like, then I'd be happy.

It's all varied enough that I figure at least one of them could fit the realm of possibility to come true.  I just hope I never get the chance to find out again.
