My Canon 5d just arrived via Fed Ex. Is there anything I HAVE to try with this? I am so excited. Christmas came early at the Mangles house.

If this is your first "high-end" DSLR camera, then you must go out and start shooting some shallow DOF shots.  To run the camera through its paces, practice your panning shots to get used to the "jello" effect (even though the issue is almost removed in this version of the camera), and most importantly - familiarize yourself with the camera.  I suggest you check out Philip Blooms most excellent video walk through on how to set up your Canon 5D to shoot the best video possible.  OH! Also get the Technicolor Cinestyle camera preset.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The jello effect doesn't seem to be too much of an issue, other than a little soft spots but that could also be some user error on my part. This was purchased so my wife and I could take on some outside work shooting music videos and I plan to spend the next couple of weekends learning about every setting with this thing.
