The Defenders cancelled

Anyone else been reading this? It's getting shit canned after issue #12 which is a real shame. Seems like unless a Marvel book has Spiderman or Wolverine on the front cover then it's days are numbered. I'd like to see someone like Jason Aaron pick this up and continue since he is pretty good with the more fantasy/sci fi bent stuff, I mean he did have Hulk fighting cyborg bears in an abandoned cosmonaut space station a few issues back.

Really? Dang it Marvel, you drift further and further away from my heart with each passing day. I demand one hundred Howard the Ducks and a legion of M.O.D.O.K.S as compensation!

Anyway, yeah, really enjoyed this series it's sad to see it go especially with its DC counterpart, the JLI also getting the can. It seems well formed teams can now only be brought together by X-genes and not by interesting story telling.

I prefer teams where the members don't really like each other. JLI fit the bill; but Defenders could have been so much better if it was more of that.
