Rachel's hand moves from gently stroking your outer thigh to a firmer stroke of your inner thigh. She looks at you, her green eyes sparkling in the half-light of the corridor.

"I t'ought Donovan be a part o' t'e Prophesy but maybe not. Sashca didna see fit to bring 'im back, sad as t'at be fir Liv."

"But 'ere you and I are. Bot' of us died in t'e world t'e ot'ers remember but we be kickin' aboot 'ere like it nev'r 'appened. Naught more t'an a bad memory for us, eh?"

"Still, while sur'n I be a 'Cild o' t'e Fae', t'is ye t'at once be called 't'e Dead Waker'. I be wonderin' if it still be true?"

"If there is anything that I've learned recently, it's that anything is possible. Question is though, how do we find out."[/i]

T'Ning kisses Rachel on the top of her head and continues running his hands through her hair.

Rachel leans into you even more, her lithe form so light against your muscled torso yet causing you to burn from within.

"Och, I dinna know. In t'e old time line ye could see t'e spirits o' t'e Grey Realm clear as I see ye now. Maybe ye could look fir Serena. I bet Tren be a wee bit more sensible if 'e knew 'is lady luv not be gone forev'r."

She pauses and looks up at you.

"Aire ye well, luv? T'e day be long and we still be makin' plans like generals. T'was a dif'rent sort o' distraction I be 'opin' fir tonight."

T'Ning looks down at her an smiles, and pauses for a moment, remembering his other self and how he was able to see the Grey Realm.

After a short moment he concentrates and focuses in on the Grey Realm.

Aerik nods as he looks over your men. The remaining hobgoblin snipers and elven scouts look a bit shaken from facing Angels of the gods but they are focusing on the task at hand.

"The squad is working on teamwork and coordinated strikes. Our ranged abilities are already well-honed but we are working on stealth tactics and close-quarters fighting."

"Kofi has everything well in hand. If you need my skills, I am ready."

Tren nods.

"Very well we will discuss the tactic after. We head to the rooftops of West Wellington in search of those who may be interested in joining our cause."

T'Ning, you try for the first time in this new universe to see into the Grey Realm. You find your perceptions shift as easily as if you'd blinked.

The Grey Realm opens up before you. But it is not at all like you remember from your memories.

What was once a foggy and featureless expanse teeming with the millions of souls denied entrance to the outer planes following their death is now an even more bizarre landscape.

The entire plane appears to have been hollowed out by some unimaginable power. It appears as if a tunnel was dug through it, like a burrowing animal.

The tunnel itself is wrought with holes through which points of light can be seen. The tunnel sizzles and smokes around the apertures, as if it is quickly being dissolved.

There are no signs of any souls or spirits. Every single soul of every person who has ever died since the beginning of time...is gone.

Tren meets Aeriks gaze.

"You, Aphra here, Kofi and myself. Not to mention an entire village of hobgoblins and a Beholder."

Kofi blinks.

"You want to bring Fash and village to West Wellington?"

T'Ning blinks a couple times, and refocuses back on Rachel.

"Aye love, everythings alright.  It seems time is getting away from me..ah well."

He pulls her close, leans in and places a few gentle kisses on her neck, as his hand runs down the small of her back.

Tren shakes his head.

"No just those that are with us. To West Wellington it is just Aphra, Aerik and myself."

Rachel moans a little beneath the kisses on her neck. You feels her fingertips dig into your thigh as your lips find those areas on her body you know will send her over the edge of self-restraint.

Rachel's eyes roll, half-closed, toward the opening of the hallway leading back into the main castle. You see two hobgoblin sentries walking by, now peering in curiously.

"Room, godsdammit. Room!" Rachel's wish resounds clearly along the walls.

An open door suddenly appears, leading into a softly lit bedchamber where you spy a large four-poster bed, covered in a sheer canopy and the tall posts fitted with long lengths of rope. She grabs you by the front of your tunic so roughly it causes your head to snap back a little.

She drags you into the room, seemingly by her own strength as you find yourself on weakened knees, and away from the curious and now-disappointed 'goblins. She kicks the door shut with one foot as your momentum carries you onto the bed.

The rest is beyond description but seared to blissful memory.

Tren, you walk away with Aphra and Aerik. The night burns with your thoughts and there is far too much of both to waste on the even darker places your mind may travel.

You need rest if you are to recover from your injuries. You know this.

But Moira is not here and sleep seems a taunting cruelty. As you set off for West Wellington, the rest of your comrades (save your sentries and the Angels) consign themselves to much-needed sleep.

The future is coming quickly. It threatens to be a dark tomorrow.

{End of Chapter 74.}
