While browsing Wikipedia earlier for...   Heck, I can't even remember what I went for in the first place...  I came across the entry of the unreleased 90's Fantastic Four movie, which got me thinking of other rumored/proposed/cancelled things that looked good or at least interesting but for some reason or another never came out, were scrapped, cancelled mid-production or whatever.

Stargate MMO:  I'm still pretty sad that this never saw the light of day.  From reading articles and interviews by people working on the game, I was really excited for the game.  They even had contests on Syfy to be included as a character in the game, but for whatever reason it kept stalling until it was finally shelved when MGM decided to shelf all things Stargate related.   Which brings me to my second list item:

Stargate Universe Movie:  After Syfy cancelled SGU and leaving the series on a cliffhanger, it was said that the loose ends would be tied up in one of the future direct-to-DVD movies.  And then MGM decided to say "No more Stargate whatsoever".  You stink, MGM.

Star Trek Online:  Yes, I realize that a game called Star Trek Online did indeed come out.  However, it isn't the game that was originally scheduled to come out.  Before the current game came to be, another game by another company was in the works that was a very different sort of game.  A bit of the original game was incorporated into the current incarnation, but it is still a very different game than the original company had worked on.

Original Power Rangers Season 2 Concept:  This is something I can understand why they didn't do, but it was still a pretty neat idea.  Originally, Power Rangers was to end, just like the Super Sentai series it was adapted from.  However, due to unexpected popularity, it kept going.  When the second season came around, there were originally plans to have new updated versions of the original Dino Zords instead of using footage from the next Super Sentai series.

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

How about you?  Anything you wish would have been made that wasn't?

Bullfrog Studios / Productions is the game development company that brought us Populous, Syndicate, Magic Carpet, and Dungeon Keeper... at some point they were planning to do an open-world superhero simulator borrowing many of the philosophies of their previous games (simulation of Populous, populated cities of Syndicate, flight and destructible terrain of Magic Carpet, the heavy theme and autonomous AI of Dungeon Keeper, etc) but the project was cut as too ambitious once EA bought them.  Bullfrog always shot for the stars to land on the moon and given the tech and level of gameplay mechanics at the time, I'm sure the game wouldn't have lived up to expectations but it probably would have advanced superhero gameplay mechanics forward a generation so we'd have better fruit now.

I kind of wish David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman was subsidized and allowed to go two seasons.  I think, despite all it's terrible flaws, it could have found an audience and put a variation of Wonder Woman back on the map (which wouldn't preclude a "true" version from appearing otherwise).

If we go into the realm of cancelled shows I'd never stop lamenting. ;-)

Terra Nova season 2 (still a tiny possibility)
Alcatraz season 2
The River season 2

Dear Fox, stop canceling awesome shows. Thanks!  Angry

Also, I second all of Nav's. Great shows there.

If anything else, I was certain that a decent number of the Smallville fanbase would enjoy the show.  I wasn't a big fan of the project myself, but I thought it would have been an interesting series to watch if I detached it from the DCU (much in the same way I can enjoy Enterprise if I detach it from Star Trek).

Terra Nova season 2 (still a tiny possibility)

I'm almost certain I've seen articles state that this did very well for FOX, so I don't understand why it is even in the "maybe/maybe not" pile.

They must have Manatees running things.

ALSO:

Stargate Worlds is in the news again as more lawsuits against the company emerge.

I'd also like to add to my list:
Sanctuary:  It is official, there will be no season 5.  I've really enjoyed the series, so I'm really upset that it isn't coming back.  But I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering it was on Syfy.

It did do very well for Fox, however according to them it was just way to expensive to keep up.  Fox has said they weren't going to do another season of it, so the owning company of Terra Nova has been looking elsewhere to get the next season going.  It's sad to cause the show has so much promise.

The Locke And Key TV show had the potential to be awesome. I've not found the pilot online (can anyone help with that?) but from what I saw they got the tone about right.
Out of morbid curiosity I'd've loved to see the Tim Burton/Nic Cage Superman Lives movie.
And I too would love to know what would have happened in later Firefly seasons.
Other worthy mentions: Freaks And Geeks; Nick Cave's Gladiator 2 script (http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/may/06/nick-cave-rejected-gladiator-script); HBO's Carnivale and Deadwood; and the original version of Gun's N Roses Chinese Democracy.
