So, I've recently decided to go ahead and swing by Gencon on Saturday this year (didn't want it to be the first time in six years I haven't gone) despite not having anyone to go with. Since I've waited till now to decide to go, I know it will be nigh impossible to get any tickets to smaller gaming sessions, but the trade floor has enough to keep anyone busy for a day. I know I'll be swinging by Blind Ferret (love those guys, and Randy Milholland will be there) and Erfworld on the webcomic side of things, and Sentinels of the Multiverse and WEGS for the gaming portion of my day.

Is anyone else planning on heading to this wonderful mecca of Nerdness?

I've stopped making plans to go.  Not because I currently couldn't afford it (the whole trip, not just entry costs, despite the fact I live in Illinois and it isn't all that far), but because all three times I've planned to go something bad happened (two hospitalizations, one family death).  Someday, though.

I do hope you have a great time even if you can't manage to get into any of the games.

Those would be valid reasons to steer clear of it. I actually just got out of the hospital yesterday (yayy for gastrointestinal illnesses that take two weeks to diagnose!), but as Indy is only a two hour drive for me, I figured, "Eh, what the heck; I might as well."
