Bedlor cannot help but laugh out loud at the joke

"Hohoho."

And seeing the eyes upon him, explains.

"The weapon be magic, o' course, I not be leakin' in the mind.

This be Warsong, one o' two weapons o' legacy from our world. One given to the Protector o' Man, that be me, an' one given to the Protector o' Elves, a 'uman in the world we left.

I was askin' Dubya what 'e thought o' things. 'E be a might wiser than most, by my measure. Also, I be askin' 'im what 'e be thinkin' o' the 'orse out there. It shares a name wit' a friend o' 'is. Well...friend may be too 'arsh a word, hohoho. The other legacy weapon be goin' by the name 'Valor'.

But all we be needin' is way to be stoppin' Lyric from usin' 'er powers. Sure'n ye magic sorts can be seein' to that, eh? It all be leanin' on us findin' the Trust. Wit'out us doin' that none else be makin' a matter."

Aldina speaks up.

"Though Master Vandel would be best at it, I am his apprentice. I could prepare scrolls that anyone could use."

"I know of spells that prevent dimensional travel. Some beings might have a resistance to magic that allows them to bypass it but otherwise the scrolls should work."

"See, now we be makin' some gains in it all.

Now, sure'n our enemy can be doin' the same an' knowin' o' Tren. As much as we be thinkin' 'e can be takin' the Trust to where we need it to be goin' when the time comes we shouldn'ta be relyin' on that bein' our only way o' goin' 'bout defendin' ourselves once we find it.

What o' the defenses o' this place, an' 'ow it travels? Can we be makin' it to the elders in this cloud in good time an' keepin' it guarded?

We also need to be gettin' to where the Trust be an' gettin' our 'ands on it proper. I not be so sure the ease o' gettin' it be better than keepin' it."

"But we can use knowing of me as an advantage. They will prepare to deal with. If such a thing is even possible. I have yet to see it ever happen really. Although I do believe it may one day be possible. Defending such an item with our weapons against a god I feel will not help us much. We need a plan of action or help of someone who has the same level of power.

If only we could somehow get Lark to come here we would have such an advatage."

"Use ye as an advantage? I not be followin' ye, mate...

But if'n these almighty gods ye seem so fearful o', Tren, were o' any count at all it'd be them goin' after the Trust an' gettin' it instead o' us bein' so able to do it.

I know ye not be 'avin' as much dealin's wit' gods as we 'ave, Tren, but they be no different from any o' us. A bit more power maybe, but sure'n Hyde be 'avin' it o'er the lot o' us, an' sure'n more prideful, givin' US the advantage o'er 'em.

An' I be findin' yer lack o' faith disturbin'. Look 'bout us, mate. What more 'elp could ye be greedin' fer?"

Then sighs.
"You mistake my need for preparation for lack of faith Enghart. In my experience with dealing with godlike beings they are always prepared. That's what makes them powerful. Running in fist first will get people killed. You already experienced that once today.

These people are following you and their death must be taken under consideration. We cannot keep the way we are doing things.

These people who will also be going after the trust will be ready for my ability. We can use that as a bait and switch. If they could somehow block or follow me after my teleport we could split their focus while you take the trust. I am building an army to help me here. Already I have a village of Hobgoblins who are ready to help and keeping their eyes out for this elven girl who you say is Lyric. I befriended a beholder named Fash who is also willing to accept my cause.

The more allies we have the better off we will be, but we have to keep them alive and that takes planning. People are willing to give their lives for you. That responsibility has its necessary precautions. '"

"Now be 'oldin' on a damn minute, mate!

It not be recklessness that be findin' our friends dead. Nor was it meself claimin' to want to tend to the damned bitch o' a girl Lyric. I'll also be remindin' ye that ye be nowhere 'round when our friends be meetin' their deaths, ye be off tendin' to yer own doin's. No matter what gains ye made in that our friends still be dead, an' I'd trade 100 flyin' cloud castles full o' wizards for 'em back. No offense to me new mates 'ere.

So be watchin' yer words in sendin' mud in my direction when it comes to leadin'. Yer not mindin' my warnin's o' strength in numbers an' goin' on 'bout yer own, takin' others wit' ye, be just as to blame for the deaths our friends. They be mates o' mine far longer than yours, an' I carry their deaths wit' me in ways none but the Protector o' Man could be doin'.

If'n ye wish to speak o' me bein' a leader, Tren, then be lettin' me lead. When I be tellin' ye I not be likin' somethin', like ye leavin' the party makin' the whole weaker, be 'earin' an' doin'. Or speak not o' me bein' a leader an' tossin' 'bout petty insults, an' be gettin' to the greater point.

Which be gettin' the Trust. There be no way to ready for an enemy we not be knowin'. Gettin' the Trust be makin' that enemy known.

What do ye plan to do wit' yer army? Take the West city by force to gain the Trust?

Listen, this is what we be knowin'. We be set to meet one who carries the Trust. Sure'n our enemy not be knowin' who this be, else they'd be on 'im like bees on wildflowers on a sunny spring mornin'.

So, be my seein', it be 'keepin' a low profile', as Donnie would be sayin', that be needed. If'n the enemy not be knowin' o' the switch when we take the Trust we be in the clear.

Ye speak o' gods as though I not be meetin' wit' one in the past day. Gods be 'bout, sure'n wit' 'ands dabblin' 'ere an' there, but sure'n if'n these gods be so all-powerful they'd be doin' more than the nothin' I always see 'em doin' when we meet. Locked in 'ell; 'din' in plain sight wit' the face o' 'nother.

I be meetin' me fair share o' gods, in this world an' me own, an' not a one be impressin' me much at all.

What o' known mortal enemies o' this world? Those be the ones lookin' for trouble, mates."

"Bedlor, Moria, could I have a word with you two for a moment?"

Bed looks to Liv, and around the room at the others before meeting Liv's eyes again

"Sure'n I always be 'avin' time for a 'lone word wit' one o' me oldest mates."

Bed follows Liv to a silent spot.

Then smiles silently to himself and winks at Serena.

Bed, noticing the wink, looks to Serena and back to Tren a couple of times

"What be yer aim 'ere, mate?

Ye seek to lead more than ye already be doin'? Ye wish to take this group o' allies an', by yer word 'lone, lead 'em to victory 'gainst the enemy ye not e'en be knowin'? Snatchin' up the Trust, wearin' such wit' fists 'eld 'igh, savior o' the world, wit' bards tellin' tales an' singin' songs grown men be made to weep at the 'earin'?

Be doin' such, wit' me blessin'. Better ye than me, mate. By gift an' title I be given the responsibility o' e'ery man in me own world an' this one by my measure. I be leader o' this group through no other doin's than the actions o' those in this group, blowin' the dust off the words o' each to be makin' choices for the all. This group leads itself, wit' any seein' to the other bein' in the 'ead o' 'em thinkin' such.

So, wit' no reins to be given in the first place, be takin' the reins o' the group, mate. Where'd ye an' the tongue in yer ear be seein' us next?"

Tren stands up and looks around to everyone in the room.

"Enghart when I look at those around this room I see nothing but respect for you and where you choose to lead this group. They have been with you long before I. Get with everything you have gone through there was one thing I saw that you lacked. It was direction.

I know how and why that is. Hell, I had ten years to think about unlike you. And yet those who stand with you will always stand with you and you have just proven it to me.

Do not think I do not believe you are truly the protector of man because you would be false. You are the embodiment of it, even as a dwarf and I do believe I know why you were chosen. You will never let anyone manipulate you.

But listen to me carefully. My knowledge and power as well as everyone else who walks with is a resource and should be treated as such. These people around you are willing to give up what they hold dear for you. Remember that and use it. My words may seem harsh but Live gave up an undeniable love to come back to your side and that deserves merit and respect. I know you have that but it needs to fuel your next move.

The men and creatures and claim to my side are not only working for me. They are working for us as I consider our friendship a tangible connection. I left a universe that I helped save to come seek you out. Serena will always be what's most important to me but I also have a duty to uphold to all of you.

Tren pauses and looks to Enghart. Takes my words as wisdom and not as an attack and we would both benefit greatly but remember this. Your constant taking offense when I speak my mind to you will not always be swallowed. I respect you Enghart and I wish you would do the same."

"Then be offerin' somethin' o' substance, instead o' words that be doin' no good.

I say we move to the West city an' find the Trust. Not knowin' who the enemy be makes it a bit 'ard to be gettin' ready more than what we be e'eryday. Sure'n words o' protectin' us from teleportin' be spoken o' already.

Lessin' ye can be sayin' more than us wastin' time preparin' for a trap we not know be comin' from an enemy we not be knowin', we should be speakin' o' the certains to sneakin' us 'bout to gain the Trust. If'n our enemy be watchin' us an' set to grab the Trust from us, our aim should be to get it wit'out our enemy seein'.

Sure'n I not be knowin' 'ow our enemy can be knowin' o' this cloud, lessin' ye know somethin' different, an' sure'n our enemy not be knowin' o' the one carryin' the Trust now, else 'e'd be caught sure as I 'ave a 'airy chin.

Our plan be set on usin' Moira an' meself as actors in a play, but if'n we can be simply sneakin' 'bout while our enemy wonders what we be doin' our time be a might easier.

Ye say we be up 'gainst mighty foes we need to be ready for, an' I agree wit' ye, but all the facts be pointin' to us knowin' more than our enemy 'bout where we be an' gainin' the Trust. If'n we be 'idden from our enemy we should be stayin' as such. It be our sturdiest shield by my seein'."

Tren sits back down and puts one leg up on the other.

"The way I see it our plan needs to be three fold. You and Moira getting into the city was always an issue with your counter parts being so famous. We need a distraction something that cannot be missed.

A flying cloud castle could just such a distraction. You enter while the castle floats overhead and hopefully no one will notice. That's the first step. The second step would be to set up a meeting point within the city limits. Should anyone become separate we could easily meet up at this point while we search for the trust.

Third we will need someone on the inside that truly knows the city. I'll handle this part as it will not likely be the captain of the guard who knows how to truly 'move' through the city."

Rachel draws an apple from her satchel and takes a bite. She raises one eyebrow at you, Tren.

"Ye know 'ow to move t'rough t'e city? Ye know West Wellington better t'an any o' us? Ye??"
