what a great year for us nerds and geeks everywhere to go to the movies. almost every week there's a cool movie coming out. so i wanted to posts some quick thoughts on what i've seen so far, just before the one we're all waiting for, The Dark Knight.

Iron Man: what a way to kick off the summer. probably the best so far with great actors, great effects, great writing. everything great. can't wait for the next one. Marvel is kicking their Marvel Universe for the movies with a bang. too bad they took so long before doing it.

The Incredible Hulk: the first one was a disapointment. it was not a piece of crap, but the director tried something, and failed. this new one can be a little by the book compared to the first one, but the director stop at nothing to show us great action scenes, with some tender moment. not a perfect movie, but definitely one that i'll watch again and again.

Wanted: the one i was waiting for. i didn't read anything one the plot, because i thought it would follow the comic book more closely. it was a nice surprise to see they kept only the base of the story and created something entirely new. a fun movie, full of action and coolness, but always in the spirit of the comic book. i want to go see it again, but money and time prevent me to do it.

Hancock: ok, not a comic book movie, but a super-hero movie nonetheless. this may be the best of the lot, but you can't win them all. don't get me wrong, it's still a pretty fun movie with a nice twist in the middle that i didn't see coming. i'll probably get it on dvd.

Hellboy 2: i thought the first one was good, but only good. this one i think the same, but is completely different. some bit of humor that are out of place, some that are right where they belong. some very good looking scene, and fight. the addition of the new leader of the team is really good. the love story feel forced, the thing with the baby is useless. at some point it looks like the director forgot the script to put his efforts on looking cool. still a lot of fun. if you're fan of the 1st, go see it. the rest, it's up to you.

The Middleman: not a movie, but a TV series about evil scientists, robots and mexican wrestlers. based on an independant comic book, it's really a lot of fun. it feels as silly as The Tick, with less super-heroes. on TV right now, 4 or 5 episodes out so far.

-How do you do that?

this just in, Batman: The Dark Knight is awesome. The Joker is the best part of the movie, but the rest is very good too. Batman is almost an afterthought, with Dent and Gordon and everything that is happening.
