I move over to Tren, and hold onto Donovan's hand tightly.

Farewells are given. Burgomeister Oendal, despite his reservations of you, begs you to find Faerun and return him home. Chikanna leaves with her Whispers to speak to Burgomage Oddwyn Bardd while the other Gnomes watch you depart.

Mogul Took holds the eyes of his Pass Warders as he gives them parting instructions. He spends a few extra minutes with the four new Pass Warders and the archers from Skylight, speaking quietly to them while Rowe and Hardman already begin assessing the best way to defend the village.

Tren, your mind goes to the shard of the Necropolis Dreamstone. It feels "different" somehow, as if it was trying to touch your mind as well.

You try to focus on it, at the very least ensuring it is safe to begin your journey. But the presence withdraws and your mind pushes into the shard as if breaking through the surface of dark water.

Shadows form around you as you and your new friends slip into the Plane of Shadows. The shadows seem palpable, swaying forms that move by you as if you were lost in a crowd of strangers.

The intangible plane you have walked many times feel quite corporeal now. The barrier between your mortal realm and this place seems as nearly nothing and it is difficult to tell that you have moved at all.

It is more like nightfall has come, dropping your world into a veil of shadow but with little change in the world you could touch. Your hand reaches forward tentatively, toward one of the shadow shapes. ... It reaches toward you in return.

Then, you are moving. Flying faster than man could muster, you and your party are gone from the tiny northern village of White Grove, traveling through the Plane of Shadow.

A new home is about to find you, and a welcome return for most with you. Union Point awaits.

{End of Chapter 66.}

{Aaaaaaaaand.....(wait for it)..... Level Up!  Smiley}
