Sounds like a Dark Ages Porn title.

The Dark Knight Comes will be the sequel.

Amazing how fast you can derail a thread, Slappy.   Tongue

Robin Williams?!

Before this, I wasn't on board. Bane is boring, catwoman is boring, and well I didn't like the  first movie. The second, which was a masterpiece, was the exception to the rule. However I now want to see this.

Yet again, I have to go against the tide. I HATED the second movie and loved the first.

The second was too long and too inconsistent. The only good thing about it was Heath Ledger.

Both of the last movies were good. Complain ye not, ye complainers.

If I were to not complain, this would stop being the Internet and be some nice place where people actually get along.

Regardless, I am interested to see what they do with this movie.

For some reason I haven't been feeling this movie so far. But I have nothing to base that on because we know so little about it.

I trust Nolan and have no reason not to expect great things.

I know so little about it specifically, but I have no doubt that it will be as awesome as Nolan films have been.

I'm curious as to the inconsistencies you mentioned. I don't recall anything so terrible as to take away from overall enjoyment.

For me batman via the actor is done badly. His voice is hard to hear and well I just don't buy him as batman. Also the first movie just dragged and I soon lost caring what happened to anyone in the city. Which made me not see The Dark Knight in theaters, but I regret that. Yes I agree with greyman24 there is no doubt that Heath stole the show, his performance made that movie very good. Other things were not memorable. Only because he was that good.

I'm curious as to the inconsistencies you mentioned. I don't recall anything so terrible as to take away from overall enjoyment.

The story went through constant ups and downs, with no clear, over-arching thread. One plot would be resolved only for another to begin: on and on for 2 1/4 HOURS. It caused the film to drag--I started staring at my watch at about the 90 minute mark.

And while I loved the re-imagining of the Joker, the way Two Face was written was less than stellar. For films that pride themselves (both Begins and TDK) on a more realistic portrayal of the world of Batman, Two Face was consistently short-changed.

His face was scarred mainly because he didn't have the sense to TURN OVER. I say scarred, but really, half of it was just ERASED--and how he was able to talk is beyond me. Why did they make the decision that it was too silly to have Joker's skin dyed white and hair permanently green, but Two Face's eye with no lid didn't dry and shrivel up, and he was able to speak perfectly well with half of his mouth gone? And how his eyelid burned away but his eye appeared completely undamaged is beyond me.

To be honest, I would have been much happier with the movie if Two Face wasn't in it AT ALL. The story would have been more concise, and you could have saved him for later. Aaron Eckhart didn't do too bad a job, but the script had some major flaws.

Fair enough.

I disagree with just about all of that but mileage varies.

The need for an over-arching thread isn't a feeling I share. I can enjoy a good story regardless, and the plot threads that directly fed to the next plot thread was good enough to maintain an interesting story and grow the characters.

I won't go into the realism of Two-Face in a movie where the lead character wears black spandex and drives around city streets in a tank. In a real world I'd think we'd have a homeland security issue Smiley

But are those inconsistencies? I don't recall a point in the movie that was inconsistent with any other parts of the movie. Those just seem like "things I didn't care for." And that's cool, just making sure I didn't miss anything in what many agree to be the best superhero movie of all time Smiley

Ah, but he doesn't!  Spandex wouldn't make sense, but an experimental suit of body armor...

Nolan said from the beginning that he wanted more realism from Batman. That's why you had R'as al Ghul, but no Lazarus pit. Why you had Joker but no selective skin/hair color changes.

The biggest inconsistency is in how the "realism brush" was applied.

It's true that they are things I didn't like. String enough of them together, and you have an overall movie I didn't like. MMV
