I just want to post how much i despise michael bay. I hate everyone of his films and it is a huge turn-off for me to have him assigned to a project. please michael bay, just stop. I dont need anymore fuckin explosions in my movies, especially if they dont help drive the plot forward. Your flashy direction style and retarded camera work are passe, and i wish you would find a new pony to ride on and go produce instead of being a director who takes work out of more promising directors mouths. again, please stop michael bay. ANYONE just stop michael bay!

The gross for his movies shows that most disagree with you. I'm not really one of them, but it seems like people love his shit.

The ability of most viewers to critique a movie is suspect.

I'll give him The Island. I dug that quite a bit.

But his movies are simply over-the-top action movies, that aren't trying to be anything else than "don't make me think, just let me stuff my face with popcorn" movies, and he certainly has accomplished that.

I really think where people get bent out of shape so much more with Bay is because he's directed movies based on properties that people really love...no, screw that, its because people hate the Transformers movies and that's about it Smiley

And he's only producing on TMNT AFAIK, so there is hope Wink

Here's the thing with Bay. His movies ARE over the top ridiculosity. But they are still enjoyable. Bad Boys. Armageddon. The Rock. The Island. The first Transformers.
However... Transformers 3 is an abomination, and all copies should be destroyed lest they infect easily influenced minds. It makes Pearl Harbor look like it's a moving, artistically rendered, masterclass in movie making. Granted, the final act is pretty cool lookin, especially in 3D, but that doesn't excuse all the stupidity that builds up to the robo-smackdown.
I don't say this often, but I HATE Transformers 3.

Bad Boys. Armageddon. The Rock. The only Bay films worth a SH#(. I dont like stupid, summer movie fare. Im an odd duck, i want a movie to make me think. Or at least, in the case of Kevin Smith, give me a profane comedy with a moral somewhere shoe horned in. And of course Movie-goers love him, when was the last time the average american read anything that had educational background. True, i read a TON of sci-fi novels, but i also read classic of the sci-fi cannon, ERB Mars trilogy. Harlen Ellison's short stories. The original DUNE novels. A lil jules verne. Or i read, every once in a blue moon, a historical piece. I know im not the lowest common denominator. I know im not joe average. Even my fiance tells me that when i complain about damn near EVERY film i see advertised. I just dont like the hype and hysteria surrounding Mr. Bay. The last film i went to see in the theaters was Dark Knight. (and the twilight movies because of my fiance, BUT I DONT LIKE THEM, LOL) Im prose reader, a lover of the graphic medium (Im on The Goons nuts like a squirrel) and at the end of the day a gamer. To everyone who likes Bay's film i feel no ill will, i, personally, am just tired of his ass!

I tend to agree, but I don't mind a no-thinking involved flick from time to time, and I read books all the time.

But I get you, it truly is the LCD of movies.

I want to talk more about the Mars Trilogy! Is it not simply brilliant?! They should do a movie Wink
