Navarre knows a lot about sheep.

Those sheep are liars, I tell you!

Do they still sell those thick types of bags that didn't really seem to fit modern comics and turned yellow over time? I was never sure if those were designed for a different era of comic sizes or if they were just sub-par bags that were made before the process improved.

I am not one for variant covers, in general. When it comes to art, I like what I like, and some are better than others.

Sometimes we get variant cover sets that incorporate one idea and they put variant covers out all revolving around the idea. Marvel and DC have both done this in recent memory. I've never really much gave a damn, like I said, good art is good art, screw the "idea" it revolves around.

But I have got to say that these "I am Captain America" variants are freaking awesome. It probably has more to do with the individual covers actually being awesome, but the "idea" seems to be a greater inspiration maybe than the other ideas used for these variant cover sets.

When it comes to varient covers I will only buy them if I can't get the original covers.  During my "catch up" period, I bought a few varient covers due to the lack of original covers.  I do have a weakness for Foilogram covers (So shiney).  It is the only time I buy 2 version of the same issue so I didn't put any marks on the shiney surface.  I will also admit to buying 2 copies of Fantastic Four #587 so I still have one in a sealed "Death Bag".

Now for the covers themselves I hate (like mostly everyone here) when they use the cover to promote films, cartoons or other comics.  For me the Tron covers were the first reminder that Marvel was bought from Disney (Then I went to Disneyland and bought a few Marvel comics while on holiday  Grin)  Also the pirate X-23 cover was a bit of a give away.
Almost as bad as this is a comic that has 2 covers that make a whole picture.  For Example the Hulk comics had a few.  When Skaar first fought the Hulk you had an A cover of Skaar and a B cover of the Hulk, or you could buy the original which had both on the one cover.

Comic bags and boards.  Thankfully that's something I haven't had to buy in a while thanks to my comics being delivered bagged and boarded.  Comic boxes however, I am running out of room to store them I have taken over the corridor and two rooms in my house with comics.

If I had the powers of Multiple Man, I would send one of the dupes to work, one to revise, one to clean my room and one to walk the dog.  While I would stay at home reading comics.

Whatever happend to the gatefold covers? I remember them so clearly. They were good if you wanted to show a big ol' picture. But they wouldn't sell as many copies thanks to completists. just a thought.
