THOR God Of Thunder.

I actually saw this movie last week and I thought it was a great film with the usual plot lines I was expecting.
Not to spoil it too much but, it's kind of a combonation of the original origin and the reboot. As in Odin banishes Thor to Midgard but it's in the New Mexico dessert. Some of the characters are slightly different. One of the biggest being Loki was taken by Odin as a baby not a small boy, so Loki doesn't even know he's a Frost Giant.
Like I said I don't want to give away the ending but you can guess most of it if you have read the origin of Thor and seen the full length trailer.
So what do other people think? and did you stay to watch the build up for Captain America and The Avengers after the credits.
P.S Don't forget to watch out for Stan Lee's cameo

If I had the powers of Multiple Man, I would send one of the dupes to work, one to revise, one to clean my room and one to walk the dog. While I would stay at home reading comics.

Thor? ... Oh, yeah. He's Captain America's sidekick in the Avengers, right?
I haven't seen the movie yet but it opens here in the US this week. I'm very excited about it.
Wasn't the after credits scene bonus posted on the main MS site recently?

My goddaughter and some of her friends went, but I haven't heard from them today. I was going to go, but my painkiller made me get really nauseous last night.

I'm sorry you were sick. I hope you feel better soon and get to go.
I don't want to go alone but I don't have any friends. So I guess my choices are to see it alone or not at all. I haven't made that decision yet.

Thanks. Being on such a strong painkiller (once-a-day 24 hour morphine being the biggie) makes it near impossible for me to make plans too far in advance. It might kill the pain, but it also has so many unpleasant side effects.

I'd just go if noone else wants to go with you. I'd go with you if we lived near each other, I need someone who actually understands my nerdiness when I geek out after a comic movie. Most of my friends don't get it 90% of the time.

Saw it. A pretty decent movie. I think Thor sounded enough like Thor that I wasn't disappointed with the performance. Loki and Heimdal stole the show as characters though. Overall a nice movie, but one that I probably would have been okay seeing on DVD instead. In fairness though, I was more excited for Green Lantern and Captain America to begin with, so this movie making me like Thor did a great job.

I agree with all of that, @lantis.
Although, actually, I'm pretty sure Mjolnir was the star of the film.

Really? I thought he had some poor moments when Thor was doing his spinning attacks. Made me doubt that he really was a magical hammer. I just don't think he was committed to the role.

Well, it was his first outing in a major motion picture. That's got to be hard on the nerves of an uru hammer.
He seemed really stiff there for a while; pretty much doing nothing, really. But he seemed to pick up the pace at the end.
I think Mjolnir has a future.

OMG! That sounds surprisingly awesome. Only problem is, most lore puts John Henry as a black man.
