If you are having a drink, than raise a toast. Neil Armstrong passed away this weekend. He was a visionary, a scholar, a gentleman and a true explorer. He was an optimist and believed in the strength of the human spirit. He was said to treat those around him with kindness, and sought little in the way of glory or fame, retiring to a simple professorship for much of his life. He will be remembered as a brave man, an American patriot, and a man of science.

"The important achievement of Apollo was demonstrating that humanity is not forever chained to this planet and our visions go rather further than that and our opportunities are unlimited."

I was in a sad mood most of yesterday after hearing of his passing.  He got to do something noone else in recorded history had done before him, and as a kid I had hoped to one day follow in his footsteps.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.

This is a sad time, but no one can say he didn't live a rich full life.

There is one consultation, we all as people lived on this Earth with the first man to step foot on the moon, another piece of existence in this great expanse of a universe, the only one that we have ever visited. I am sad mainly for our future generations who will not get to meet the first man on the Moon, or reveal in his story quite the way the rest of us have. Rest In Peace.

Amazing accomplishment and he lived a great life.

Even sadder still is that we haven't gone back in so long or done much in space. Hopefully SpaceX and companies like that will get us back again soon.

RIP Ad Astra Neil
