Just curious how many people have plans for Valentines Day.

My partner is making me dinner since we don't really have the money to go out (and she loves to cook and is really awesome at it anyway).  We're also going to watch a few "fitting" movies, and I'm supposed to pick one.  Anyone got any good suggestions for a movie (nothing in theaters, though, just DVDs)?  I'm not allowed to pick Tromeo and Juliet again this year either, and porn is also on the no-no list (yes, she actually had to make that a rule).

The movie "Valentine's Day" was not very bad at all and the ending was worth it (for me anyways).

Maybe dinner and a movie. Not sure yet to be honest. Winging it a bit this year.

Sorry, I thought "Valentine's Day" was overly self-indulgent in its own existence. "Love, Actually" is far superior and a recommendation if you haven't seen it.

Don't be sorry.

I thought the overly self indulgent, straight out of Hollywood (hence the cast full of "names"), feel was the point.

It took every stereotypical aspect of love and relationships and stood it right on its flimsy feet. Brainless; easy; and nothing missed if you end up making out halfway through it.

I've seen neither, so I'll take both into consideration.  I had actually considered "Love, Actually", though, but I wasn't sure.  I'm usually terrible at picking these sort of movies out.

Good point.   If it's a bad movie and the only way to salvage it is to make out...   Well, in the words of Professor Farnsworth:  "If cop a feel I must, then cop a feel I shall!"   Cheesy

Then watch "Love, Actually". Very sweet, far better written than "Valentine's Day", and an all-around good movie for the type of movie it is supposed to be. I highly recommend it.

"Definitely, Maybe" is a better Valentine's Day movie I'd say.  "Love Actually" is a great movie, but being set so clearly at Christmas it has less of a 'any time romance' vibe to it.  And if money is an issue I recommend going for a walk to an area with nice scenery before dinner.  I've always felt that there is little more romantic than having a beautiful view of something like the city lights in front of you, and finding it impossible to take your eyes off the person your with.

My plans, are non-existent.  I actually have to find a way to vacate my apartment for the night so that my roommates have the place to themselves for as long as possible.

Still beats Twilight.  My partner and I may be very different, but we both couldn't stand it and we tried to give it a fair chance.

Pulp Fiction has a very romantic feel.

Sure, Pulp Fiction.

Friends helping each other out.

A date at the soda shop.

Long car rides.

Witty banter.

It's all there.

And someone being "shot" in the heart too!!  An injection, but still counts.
