Bed removes his plugs and reminds the others in his group to do the same, before checking the body.

"E'eryone all right up there?

Guess this thin' not be countin' on a dwarve wit' a flyin' piece o' stone in 'is 'and."

Dalen approaches and nods appreciatively.

"Excellent shot, Mister Enghart. Even the Ravager should fear a decapitating strike such as that."

Vinnrog hoists the body of the moth woman over his shoulder. He picks up the severed head by one antenna and regards it.

He extends his arm toward you, Bedlor, handing you the head.

"Trophy for you."

Vinnrog grunts.

"They're different, uh-huh. Me never seen anything like them before."

He takes his knife and slices one of the alien moth wings from the back of the creature as Coby looks over it.

"So that's it, huh? That's about the weirdest thing I've seen yet. Look, you can see its bones and everything."

"We should take it in and let Moira have a better look. Maybe she knows more than I do 'cause it's no harpy, that's for sure."

Bed runs off and calls for Ice.

Ice returns to you straight away. He had wisely remained just within earshot from the edge of the forest but not so close he would hear anything at the barn.

He is alert and well. The wolf, however, has gone; likely on its nightly hunt.

Vinnrog carries the body and the separate head into the barn, followed by the others. Cloud has brought the lower team out of their positions after confirmation from Dalen that the creature is dead.

Everyone gathers near the old, dried-out hay bales on the ground floor after Faerun retrieves his ball and dismisses the Silence spell. The old pitchfork hangs on the wall, its webbed tines and bloodied tips denoting its age and mystery.

Moira takes a look at the moth-creature.

"It is not like anything I have ever seen. It definitely looks extra-planar in origin."

"After all the talk of Maldomkin back in West Wellington, I determined myself to learn more of the planes; as I'd mentioned. Pontiff Baptiste, learning of this, gave me a book on planar studies before he left the church."

"He said it may have 'accidentally' fallen from a shelf in the reliquary and he simply had not had a chance to return it. He suggested I hold onto it so it did not get lost."

"I have it in my gear back at the village temple. I will check for any mention of such a creature in the morning."

Erika looks at the creature. She touches it with the tip of her sword, finding its body almost sponge-like.

"We can't drag a headless moth beast into the village. I suggest we hide it out in the woods...the head too unless Vinnrog wants it...and get a little sleep back in our beds before sunrise."

Vinnrog hides the body in the woods, determined to bury it tomorrow but considering keeping the head. He returns with Howlett, returning from his nightly hunt.

You have encountered an unsettling amount of mystery in the quaint village of Forest Falls. As you each return to your respective resting areas to catch a couple hours rest before the dawn, your gut instinct tells you the mystery isn't over yet.

{End of Chapter 52.}
