I saw the "Buffy Season 8 Motion Comic" at Wal-Mart today. It is a 2-disc with the blu-ray and dvd version. It contains all 19 issues.

I haven't read Season 8 but would like to know what's going on.

Has anyone seen the motion comic and, if so, is it worth the $29.99?

It may contain "all 19 issues", but the series/"Season" ran 40 issues, only wrapping up last week, so you're only getting half the season.

Whenever I read "motion comic" though, I read "shit-house cartoon".  Usually sub-par voice acting over sub-par animated comic frames.

AAaaaaannnd, it looks like this one's no different.  In fact...*shudders*...that's REALLY quite bad.

I'd say you'd be better off hitting the TPBs or eBay for a back-issue bundle.

EDIT:  Gah!  No 'tube embedding on these forums, it seems.

Yeah, thanks for the info, Hector. Man, I'm glad I skipped that.  Embarrassed

Definately skip it.  From what I hear, the voice actors really suck at delivering Scooby-isms and were over all poor choices any way.  Besides, 19 issues from a 40 issue arc with 3 one shots for $30?  PASS!

Yeah, they sort of neglect to mention on the package cover that 19 issues isn't the whole story.

Pass indeed.

I didn't mind the Wolverine: Origin motion comic, but that was mostly because at the time noone had the comics anywhere.   And it was only like $5 (with a Spiderman motion comic DVD, I think..  Spidey was on it at least) at Toys R Us.

Not gonna shell out $30 for a motion comic, though.

$30 might be okay based on the price of the issue but I'd get more enjoyment from the actual comics. I guess the best thing to do is wait for the trade.

^Uh ... the trades have been out for a very long time.  I just picked up volume 7 and volume 8 is due out in the summer.  (8 volumes = the whole season)  With those volumes you also get some never before printed "Facebook" stories and the Willow One-Shot.

They retail pretty cheap on Amazon.

That motion comic only covers up to Volume 4.

Oh, I meant "wait" until I can buy them, not wait until they are available.
