Hey!

Some of you may have noticed (at least I hope you have) that there have been a couple of non-Legion Of Super-Heroes Hero Histories popping up. Well, I just thought I might take a minute to let you all know what was up with that.

These non-Legion Hero Histories are part of my love for the Golden Age characters. I originally submitted my first one, the Green Lama, to Stephen under the title Then And Now. I originally intended to study Legacy Heroes. Luckily, Stephen thought that they where worthy to be included under the heading of Hero Histories. I was (and am) pretty flattered by this, as I have really enjoyed Matthew's Legion Histories and am in AWE of his comic knowledge!

The heroes I have been researching have been chosen for different reasons. I did the Green Lama Hero History because I love the Old Time Radio Series. I picked Amazing-Man because of his connection to Iron Fist. I just e-mailed the latest, Rockman, to Stephen. I chose that one because of the awesome Basil Wolverton art and the connection with the new maxi-series from Marvel THE TWELVE. Also, when it comes down to it, Rockman is COOL!

The main thing with most of them is that they are Golden Age characters who have been forgotten or recently re-discovered. The Golden Age has a plethora of awesome characters and stories, and unfortunately the prices for some back-issues keep people from experiencing how cool they are.

So, that's it. Feel free to leave comments, suggestions, complaints, whatever either here or in the comment section of the individual post. If there is a particular character you want to talk about, feel free to start a thread. If I don;t know anything about them, I would be more than willing to learn!

I always enjoyed The Black Terror, who was kind of like the Punisher. A lot of cool info can be found in the book "Superhero Comics of the Golden Age" by Mike Benton, just FYI.

Honestly?  I didn't even notice there were any non-Legion Hero Histories.  Thank you for pointing this out to me.  Now I am really upset and am preparing to flame you for it.  Least I will be once I figure out what flaming actually means, besides the way I act after three mixed drinks...
