Oh, that's too bad. I'm sure it's fine that Kitty is all "ninja-y and super-awesome" but it sounds like a lot of flash with little substance.

I think I know that character. His name was Gambit.

Maybe at some point some writer will come around with the talent and initiative to do what I am suggesting.

btw, What is Claremont writing at the moment and is it any good?

No, I've never read an issue of X-Men Forever. Is that an ongoing title and (besides the Kitty stuff) is it any good?

I liked it at first since Claremont off-ed Wolverine, then the story just fell flat.  Not bad, but there isn't anything that made me want to keep buying it.  There were some interesting choices they made (Rouge and Nightcrawler trade powers), but I would sat that the villains are really boring.

Characters are always more interesting when there is the interplay with other characters significant to them. In the same way Wolverine may not be quite as interesting if Scott and Jean were absent, I guess Kitty wouldn't be as interesting without Peter, Emma, and Illyana.

The sad part is that is exactly how Quesada and his gang think. Tongue

As I've said before, a character is only as good as its writers (and its marketing). Wolverine happened to become the chosen one.

Marvel could have made Kitty the cover-girl of a hundred titles if they'd decided to put the same writing and marketing effort into her. Of course, the same could apply to Impossible Man or Flatman too.

Wolverine got lucky and Kitty got screwed.  Tongue

I know that this is a really old topic by now and Kitty is doing some great things in Wolverine and the X-Men as well as in All New X-Men, but I just found this topic and wanted to point something out.  I'm probably defensive because she's my absolute favorite character.  I have heard the complaint that she is way overpowered for a long time and that her "overpoweredness" makes it impossible to keep the focus on her for too long.  That seems about right, unfortunately.  That's why they can never keep that Superman guy in print.

Oh, that's my other favorite character.
