I'm going to be going on Amazon later to buy some new songs.  So far this is what I plan to get:

1. Flobots - No Handlebars
2. Johnny Cash - Hurt
3. Stone Sour - Through Glass
4. Blood Hound Gang - Unh Tiss
5. Blood Hound Gang - Fire Water Burn
6. Korn - Freak on a Leash
7. Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
8. Katy Perry - California Gurls
9. Five Finger Death Punch - Bad Company
10. Bad Company - Bad Company
11. U2 - Blue Room
12. Vanessa Carlton - Paint It Black
13. Gary Jules - Mad World
14. Led Zepplin - Stairway to Heaven
15. Styx - Renegade
16. Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son
17. Creedance Clearwater Revival - Bad Moon Rising
18. Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper
19. Asia - Heat of the Moment
20. Survivor - Eye of the Tiger

Any suggestions to add to the list?  I'm trying to resist getting Poker Face but I may get that Mambo #5 and I like Big Butts just for a lark.

The randomness of your list makes me want to kick it with you for a night and not remember it in the morning.

You already have all the Disturbed I would suggest.

How about Megadeth? I love me some Megadeth. 99 Ways to Die.

Believe it or not, I don't recall ever listening to Megadeath.  I know ... it's a sin.

(I still need to get Distrubed's Asylum album but I'm buying that on CD.)

And we can kick it whenever.  I'm thinking about also making a old school rap playlist ... house of pain, onyx, run dmc, snoop dogg, sir mix alot, tribe called quest ...

Thanks!  I'll look into it.  I'm trying to find the song that's getting radio play by Florence and the Machines too.

Those are good choices, @lantis. It got me to go back to the Jay-Z song because I hadn't listened to it in so long.

Thanks!  I think I'm definately going to get Dog Days Are Over.  And I'm throwning Cee Lo and Zepplin in my list of possibilities too.

I ended up getting a few songs that I completely forgot about in my first wave.  Bush - Mouth (Stingray Mix), Bloodhound Gang - Bad Touch, Simon and Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence, and System of a Down - Chop Suey.

Reviving for general music recs?

Anything by Dream Theater (one song can be as long as 28 min!)
Highlights: Train of Thought (album) is pretty heavy. Scenes from A Memory only works as a concept album (individual songs are good, but work so much better once you know the whole album)

I'm also a Coheed & Cambria fan. Second Stage Turbine Blade has more of an indy feel while their more recent work is firmly progressive post-punk.
