The economy in West Virginia could never support that kind of price.

That's one of the things that makes me worry about moving. I want to leave West Virginia. (I really, really, really want to leave!)

But my clients are all around here. If I moved to a better state my cost of living would seem to be outrageous while my income would stay the same.

I don't know what that has to do with comic book subscriptions, just saying. Maybe comics are $24 each in Jacksonville?

No same price, but a little aside we don't pay state income tax soo theres that.

Anyway, subscriptions yes! I am changing it to the store and supporting socialism.

The other thing is that my LCS offers subscriptions purchased through them in lieu of a pull list.

Allows a bit of the best of both worlds.

Oh, and Navarre, $682 wouldn't get you a 1 bedroom apartment in Chicago.

$682 for an apartment, huh? So you're telling me I'm stuck in Appalachia my whole life? Excuse me while I knot a noose.

But while I'm living under a tree in the forests of Illinois I can walk into town and buy comics at the LCS for the same price. So there's that.

Might not be in the forests of Illinois. I've known a few people around here who live in Indiana and commute into Chicago. It's about a 1 to 1.5 hour drive in.

You might be able to find something in your price range there. Same thing as people who work in NYC but live in NJ.

But yes, comic books tend to be the same anywhere in the US at least.

Oh, and my LCS actually offers 35% off for the subscription rate. Is that normal?

I think my LCS is only 10-15%.

No, that's not. That's really good for you. Your store must do pretty well to offer that much, or your plunk down tons of cash.

I get 10% off my comics, not bad, but not the 20% as I got from my old LCS.

15%

but its off of everything, even games. And it stacks (DnD tie-in) with any other sales they do, most of the time.

It stacks, huh?

So when you become a 3rd Level comic buyer do you get the Dodge Liefeld feat or the Immunity to Crossover Event ability?

Immunity to Crossover Events isn't that good. You have to also get the Improved Immunity to Crossover Event and the Greater Immunity to Crossover Event Ability for it to be any use.

haha; Is funny 'cause you have to get lots of Feats like you have to get lots of comic books, haha

None of it will matter if you keep failing your Sense Motive roll every time Marvel slaps Wolverine on the cover for you.  Wink

Y'all have just lost me with all the DnD shop talk.

But, at my LCS, if I put more comics on my pull list, I will get a deeper discount, all the way up to 20% - 25%, but there are not that many comics I like.

Yea, but the ones you add get a bigger discount. If you add enough, they will be free, right?

Sidenote: Just finished my taxes and I'm getting 2.3 million back. Math FTW!!

You should play more D&D. That is the obvious solution.  Smiley

One problem I had with my LCS was that I would have comics on my pull list but that series would have all these crossover events I needed for the story. I didn't buy those but then felt I lost out on the title I was buying.

So then I wouldn't want the issues saved on my pull list. That isn't fair to the LCS because they have saved that inventory for me.

And then the whole concept started falling apart.

Also, congrats on your new millionaire status, Gaumer. You should spend all that money before the IRS does their so-called "real" math.
