What to Read

I would like to start following the X-men, but I don't know where to begin.  Well, that isn't true I am beginning with the Messiah Complex series, but what line should I follow after that? 

Any suggestions?

MC was a sort of reboot for all of the X titles so you should be safe to jump on board anything 'x' related right now.

My favorites right now are X-Factor and Uncanny

But all the X-Books (yes, I get them) are pretty good. Young X-men just had a #1 come out last week or the week before. Could be a great jumping on point.

Have you been reading the Ultimate X-men? 

I read those for a while when they first started but obviously I haven't followed them in many years.  I liked the attitude that the series started with. 

I was thinking that I would pick up the last trade and see if I could jump in from there.

I've been snatching up the Ultimate X-men trades on Amazon for dirt cheap used.

I'm up to number 9 and have only spent about $80 with shipping

I'm still on the fence after getting through trade #5 but it is beginning to grow on me. I still havent gotten to the BKV or Kirkman runs though

I have added Uncanny starting with MC and Ultimate X-men starting at #90.

I think I should be able to figure stuff out in Ultimate, but if I get lost I will either have to buy the trades or just come back and ask you.
