I'm sure the Flash toy was made so that the character could physically cover distance for little kid owners.
I wonder if any manufacturer ever made an action figure that was somehow able to actually run?

Here's something I never understood. I thought a "bug" was a VW Beetle. Growing up, no one near me had a dune buggy (not a lot of beaches you could drive one on along Lake Ontario). Were they ALSO called bugs? I mean, generally?

Hell's no. A 'bug' is a VW Beetle. Not the new crappy ones. Only the awesome ones with the 1600 or higher CC air cooled engines. I have heard people refer to ANYTHING (incorrectly) with one of those motors referred as a bug. Even the old vans with all the awesome windows and Kharmann Ghias. I've called a dune buggy a 'bug' but it would make a little bit of sense if it had that style of motor in it. They'd still be incorrect, just not as badly  |

A buggy is different from a bug. Bug is nearly trademarked while a buggy is a slang term like a low rider.
