Shadow War campaign In-Game: Chapter 36- Plans and Plots

"I think. Don't know... know... certain. But if I am to think right, dangery... magic dangery. There be... not lots... of magic West Wellington people."

"If you to be helping... um... more magic help better?"

"You help?"

[Navarre]

Odren looks around with a furrowed brow and a skeptical expression. He spread his hands and looks around the city as he replies to you, haltingly, trying his best to work with Imperial.

"No friends."

"West Wellington no friends me."

"Me help? West Wellington see me; see ... um ... enemy?"

"Maybe. But they see wrong, no?"

"Ki pon nonar means peace to everyone... right? Maybe you can show them you are not an enemy?"

"If I am right, we really need all the help we can get."

I speak as slowly and clearly as I can in Imperial to make it easy for him to understand.

[Navarre]

"Ki Pon Nonar...Peace to everyone."

He pauses and tries to size you up but you are quite different than those he knows.

"Enemy...Who enemy?"

"Wizards from Dyre and Monks of the Stark Mask... they call themselves Dark Tomorrow. They say they follow Maldomkin. But they kill... they killed my... friend... today... and on my way here I found a Vaadjorian they had killed too. They seem to like to kill most anybody."

[Navarre]

Odren shakes his head, confused.

"What? ... Sorry, no nass..."

"Maldomkin?"




"... Hyde? ... enemy Hayden Hyde?"

The olive-skinned man raises his eyebrows and narrows his eyes at you.

"You know of Hyde?"

Sense Motive... what do I make of his reaction to Hyde? (1d20+9=25)

[Navarre]

Odren sneers, baring his teeth and squinting at you. There is no doubt how he reacts to the name of the dark necromantic master.

"Hayden Hyde. Enemy."

"Takers...no...Steal from Vaadjori ... Waking Dead ... Halnaerm ... No!"

"Hyde enemy Vaadjori!," he spits with conviction.

"Then... you help save West Wellington from him attack?"

"We think... attack soon. Maybe while the..." not knowing the words, I gesture around at the impending festivities.

"You help?"

[Navarre]

Odren sizes you up one more time. He looks to Drade, who nods encouragingly at him.

"Yes. I be to helping you, T'Ning."

He holds up his left hand, palm forward, and places his right hand crossways between you onto your right shoulder.

I smile, and make a clumsy attempt to reciprocate the gesture but probably getting it horribly wrong.

"Thank you. I... happy to am right about you, Odren."

"Oh, maybe after, I am wonder, could ask you about Vaadj? I am of interest to it. But I am need speak gooder Vaadjorian first that!"

[Navarre]

Odren understands that well enough to nod and smile, the first hint of a smile you have seen from any Vaadjori you've encountered. He turns and walks into the staging area, a little more vigilant for danger now.

As we enter the arena I keep a look out for Major Storme and any of the City Guard that we are on good terms with.

[Navarre]

You enter the arena, following Odren toward the staging area. You can already feel the tremor in the air. This will be quite an evening.
