Just a follow-up on my birthday:
I had my birthday dinner with all my local friends last night. It was great.
We ate at a local sushi place. Mmmm, sushi.
I got a bunch of presents. Yay!
I got two Astonishing X-Men graphic novels (written by Joss Whedon) that completes my collection of his work, a cool ceramic cup that one of my friends made herself, a card from the guy who mows my lawn for one free lawn mowing, a CM Punk (my favorite WWE wrestler) t-shirt, a Captain America pez dispenser, and a heart rate monitor/watch for my cardio exercising.
Also, I had written a comic book script I once submitted for publication to Dark Horse comics. It didn't get picked up but I had let one of my friends read it a couple of years ago. I had forgotten all about it and didn't even know she still had it.
But, being an artist, she created a first-issue cover for it, with my name on it and everything. It used to be one of my dreams to be a comic book writer so it was pretty cool to see my name on a cover.
It was a great birthday. And since I spend more time somehow on the MS Forum than I even do with my local friends, I wanted to share it with my online friends too.
