One more day...  On October 9, I'll be 32.

It was great!   Most of the gifts were silly geeky things (that I'm sure everyone here would appreciate):

- A tin "Superman" sign/poster: This thing

From my teenage nephew, the kid who never spends a dime on ANYONE else

- Two tin "Star Wars" cans of popcorn:  From my other nephew.  He knows I don't much care for the cheese popcorn, but he thought I'd love the tins (and I do!).

- Darth Vader Ultimate FX Lightsaber:  From my goddaughter, along with a printed card that read "Happy Birthday, Darth Mischievous!!".  They are the new lightsaber toys that look a bit like the Master Replicas lightsabers and don't have the "telescoping" blades of older lightsaber toys, instead having one perma light tube that gives a closer visual to what you see in the movies (although not nearly as well as Master Replicas do, but are a fraction of the cost).  Commercial just in case you're still confused.

- Star Wars: The Old Republic Collectors Edition Pre-Order:  I've mentioned this before, but it still counts as a birthday present.  Instead of buying separate presents, a few people pooled together the money (and I put in a little as well) and we pre-ordered the special edition of The Old Republic. 

- Dekaranger Patch:  A friend of mine made me a patch of the uniform symbol from my favorite Super Sentai series, Dekaranger.  Reference image:

- Various online gifts: A few friends got me a couple $5 SOE Station Cash cards, another made a custom cute dragon pet for me, others still gave me in-game currency to buy something for myself (either cash shop currency or large quantities of in-game earned currency).

But the absolute best gift, the one that was the biggest surprise and left me in tears, was that at 2:30 am on October 9, my friend gave birth to her baby daugter... And named her after me.  I don't think they even realized it was my birthday until after they called to tell me she had been born and named.

It was a big surprise.  Christie and Terry have always been there for me, but I honestly can't think of anything I've done other than just being a friend that would deserve such a big thing as naming a child after me.

But they made very clear that she is indeed named after me and it's not just the same name.

It would be cool if we had a place in our profile to list our birthday and then the forum had a section for "Celebrating A Birthday Today".

Maybe it should do that only for people that are members and have been active (ie, posted) within maybe the last month or something. I guess they'd need a minimum number of posts too, to weed out the bots.

But, anyway, Happy Birthday, buddy! I hope it was great for you.

I miss working on "The Elite" with you and building the Navarre Dominion.
