You're preaching to the choir... my ladyfriend gets more books per week than I do. Not just Superman and Batman even, semi-obscure stuff like Booster Gold and Power Pack.

I dated a girl who didn't "get" comics once. She couldn't understand why Superman didn't just fly around the Earth at superspeed and heat vision any wrongdoer. Drove me nuts.

Yep. There are a lot of people who don't get the concepts and depth that is presented in the idea of heroics.

That's their prerogative if they choose to ignore the messages, and even the fun, that comic books offer.

...I just don't want to date that person.

Comic-Girls.

Are those girls who read comics or should I be thinking of Kitty Pryde?

Dude you need to stop coming back to Kitty Pryde all the time. She filed that restraining order for a reason. Do you remember the hours in court? We don't need that again man.

I do remember my time in court most vividly. Point taken and shutting up now.

Still, investing ones interest in a character is usually more long-term and less hurtful than investing your faith in a real person. Not saying that is the right path, only that a good comic book character comes to feel like someone you know.
