Isn't this mostly for trades, hardcovers, and such?

Sorry, I seem to be derailing this thread. Nevermind.

In all reality, they're (I feel) trying to duplicate what made the original Avengers so popular.  Which is fine, but the fact is, as Matthew often states, it's tough to catch lightning in a bottle twice.

That said, some people buy this book just because 'Avengers' is slapped across the title, and Cap-That-Was is in charge.  They've grabbed several well known characters, sprinkled in some of the lesser-knowns.  What made it work with the original Avengers, IMO, is the fact that the lesser-knowns had interesting dynamics.  Hank and Janet, Pietro and Wanda, Hawkeye, were all made more interesting (to me) rather than just being cut-outs and being on a list of 'other guys on the team'.

I guess we'll see.  Not everyone knows a lot about Moon Knight, Nova, Valkyrie, or Sharon.  Black Widow and War Machine will probably see some increased interest a la Iron Man 2.  I think that there's the possibility of good interaction between a lot of these folks.  But, as with some Marvel stuff, sometimes it's just about selling a title with big names on the cover or in the issue.

Only time will tell.

For me, Secret Avengers is the "Main" Avengers title, because frankly Bendis has been letting me down big time since the Heroic Age.

Adjectiveless was indeed a let down for me too. But New was better for me. Prolly the characters

Without me doing the wiki thing, would someone care to list the current Avengers titles and the member roster for each?

Has anybody else seen the picture of Steve Rogers putting on the Nova helmet?  Since I cant find issue 2&3 is Richard Ryder dead,  or are they f'ing with me? If Rich is dead, screw you Marvel!!

Just because he's putting on the helmet doesn't mean the character's dead. Nova is very much alive and will probably continue to be for quite some time.

From the roster, it sounds like The Avengers is closer to the classic team while New Avengers are more street-level types. Secret Avengers sounds somewhat the street-type team but they have some heavy hitters in Nova and Valkyrie.

Avengers sounds like the best line-up (at least if Wolverine was out of there). Why is it not going over well with those who aren't enjoying it?

Well thats good that they did not kill him.  Marvel has a way of doing that.  Look at Nightcrawler, one of the greatest X-men, they just threw him to the wolves and nobody really cares.
