I was wondering; if you could go to only 3 conventions in 2010 which would they be? GenCon? ComicCon: NY or Indy? Otakon? DragonCon?

I have never been to one so I might be making a bad CONnection here (along with a horrible pun) but I'd say DragonCon, San Diego ComicCon, and maybe GenCon (out of respect for the elders)...in that order.

SDCC just because I've gone every year for five years and don't plan on stopping, Emerald City since I think it would be really cool to go to a strictly comic book convention that hosts a somewhat smaller crowd without failing to bring in some big names, and Long Beach Comic-con since it just opened last year and is more of an intimate convention that's just as close to my home as San Diego. That, and I really want to see how it grows over the years.

Meaning it's easier to talk to the guests? Do they have bigger stars of the industry or is it more that the guests there are at least working in the industry and, by virtue of being able to talk to them, it's easier to get the feel for people making their break?

It actually did have some big names on hand; Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb were seen for the ribbon cutting and plenty of artists like J Scott Campbell and Humberto Ramos were there as well.  There was something about it being so much less of a spectacle and more of a small meeting place for the fans. It seems like a really nice breather after San Diego.
