I recently bought and read it... and I enjoyed it. There were some points in the story that bothered me, but the overall story was wonderful to me.

So I'm asking...Is there anybody else that enjoyed this series or am I the only one?

Just forget that you even read "The Other", because everything it dealt with was ignored by Civil War and subsequently erased by the events of One More Day.  Sorry you wasted your money on that TPB.

You know... a friend of mine said the exact same thing you did. Small World.

Anyways, I really don't see it as a waste of money since I can still derive enjoyment from it.

I've read it,and thought that, like many other stories lately, that it was a good story. Not to say that I liked how it fit into the Spider-Man mythos at the time (doubled is right, it all has pretty much been wiped away), but I did think it was a good story.

If you get a chance, hunt up the What If...? regarding The Other story. It is a great look at how it could have all gone wrong.

I mean The Other was a pretty big deal, 12 issues across 3 Spidey titles and the story WAS engrossing.   It really delved deeper into the mythos as StacyB stated ... but the fact of the matter is that everything that happened was ERASED.  The fact that he died, formed a cocoon a rebirthed himself is pretty heady.  He got enhanced Spidey-powers ... and that was all dropped even before the events in One More Day.  It was completely ignored in the buildup to Civil War in Mr. Stark Goes to Washington.  Wouldn't Tony have known about all of this and his enhanced powers before he took Peter under his wing?  Of course he didn't because the Editors at Marvel are teh suck.

i really liked that series, i mean you actually saw a superhero really lose, i mean REALLY LOSE. it was  heartbreaking to watch spiderman get his ass handed to him over and over again, even in front of mary jane. but it does suck that none of that even happened, and i honestly dont see brand new day getting any better, its like an episode of 90210 but with characters from dawsons creek......WHAT?!!!
