Yeah, I saw the map. Yay, gaming!

My best advice is let the players take the lead. You will always know more about not only what is going on but what you expect to happen.
Those expectations will not only surely be broken (as players never do what you expect. lol) but could hinder the flow of the game if the PCs are railroaded down the plot line.
I just write a scene and then respond to the player's actions. That also keeps things fun for me, as I feel like I'm playing along as much as directing anything.
