If I went through with my plan I would have been classed as a major nerd or just a weirdo.

I was planning on getting a tattoo of two scar marks identical to my surgery scar.  Then go around saying I was sliced open by Wolverine.

WHAT.  I thought it would have been cool...kind of...OK maybe not. Grin

If I had the powers of Multiple Man, I would send one of the dupes to work, one to revise, one to clean my room and one to walk the dog.  While I would stay at home reading comics.

Don't worry, you're already a geek just for considering it.

I have considered getting Captain America's shield tattooed on a couple of occasions.

I saw the stereotypical comic geek today as I drove by the local university. He was way overweight with glasses, a goatee, and a black trench coat over a Green Lantern t-shirt.

He was walking down the sidewalk holding hands with his girlfriend. She was smokin' hot. ... Gave me hope for collective Geekdom.

I am not overwight or nor do I wear a leather jacket.  However mostly all my t-shirts are comic related.  My last t-shirt I bought has a S.H.I.E.L.D badge on the front and S.H.I.E.L.D printed on the back.  The only non-comic t-shirts I have are ones for Guinness, Terminator 2, Doom and one Navarre may not like a Captain Powder t-shirt.  My dad bought it from Canada, picture Captain America but red and white, wearing a bobble hat, on ski's and the Canadian logo.

I also wear glasses and have a beard, so 3 out of 5 ain't bad
What do you mean looking like a geek is a bad thing Huh

Oh, I don't mean anything. I'm just saying there is a stereotype of geeks either fitting the above description or the skinny, pimply-faced, bespectacles variety.

All stereotypes have to come from somewhere I guess. Many are based in some sort of fact.

But it means nothing. It is impossible to categorize all comic-lovers by a singular appearance.

And, even if you could, it would be wrong to do so just as it is wrong to label any person in such a way. But, it happens.

When I was a kid I was skinny with unkept hair, glasses held together with tape, and clothes that were 10 years behind the times (or, more likely, never in style). But I figured out a little more about social custom and decided to present myself in a different way, for my own satisfaction not anyone else's.

Never did get that hot girlfriend in high school or college though. How could she not appreciate my Uncanny X-Men collection??

Vin Diesel and other physically fit comic lovers need to stand up and represent.

In my experience fat choirs are really the best kind. And it's sir, thank you very much  Wink

I know that it has been a topic before, but I really don't get why the copyright owners would cut out their key demographic. I am currently learning to use a sewing machine, so maybe I'll make a pirated line of superhero shirts for _real_ comic book readers Smiley

...you accidentally refer to "the d6" when your parents finally get you to play monopoly.
...you liked the movie "Comic Book Villains".

... If you use D&D terminology in everyday speech.

eg, "That was a crit!" while watching the UFC or "I failed my Bluff check" when caught in a white lie.

All the frickin' time. Seriously, my girlfriend and I can't even watch a movie without doing that these days.
