Hellza Yeah, Brutha!!

A few things:

There is a scene during the construction montage at 1:37 where a black (African-American/Whatever is correct now) man is touching an unfinished suit. I thought it might be Rhodey but the suit looks more like a construct than armor. Not sure though.

I also noticed the uni-beam on Iron Man's armor at the end is triangular instead of circular. So there will be at least some redesign, as I'd expect.

But mostly: War Machine! It's "Next Time, Baby!"

Ah, was there ever any doubt?

and take that people who said Whiplash was a lame idea for villain. I LOVED how he has that sinister take on Iron Man's origin story.

What's missing? Justin Hammer! C'mon now! There's no satisfying me!

I thought Justin Hammer would be in this one as Whiplash's financier. He may still be, we don't know, but I've seen no signs of it. But we already had the business rival angle with Stane.

I also haven't seen any signs they are going to give us the darker, more realistic "Hi, my name is Tony Stark and I'm an alcoholic." story.

The Iron Man movie was great and I'm tired of every character having to be dark and gritty...but this is an essential component of Tony's history so I'll be interested to see how it is handled, if at all.

They said this movie wouldn't be centered around Stark's alcoholism and general decadence, but that it would lead into it ; I suppose those elements have been kept out of the trailer : Tony moping around completely drunk doesn't make for good hype.

And I want to see some Justin Hammer too ! Gotta love Sam Rockwell.

What Ivdar said  Wink

They've said a lot of things are going to contribute to Tony's depression including pepper getting a boyfriend, Hammer moving in on his business, and him dealing with old age. Alcoholism will be involved as well but it won't be the primary method to Stark's potential downfall.

If Stark's downfall and alcoholism are handled seriously then I am fine if it builds over the course of this movie and into the next one. One doesn't become an alcoholic overnight.

I don't feel it needs to be the only focus because Tony is much more than his addiction....but neither should it ever be played off as something less damaging than it is to him and everyone in his life.

Believe me, I know what alcoholism can do to a person. (and no, I'm not an alcoholic).

Remeber that time Tony was drunk and tried to help at the scene of a tanker car derailment? He tried to carry the tanker away without letting his armor calculate the stress load the tanker bars could handle and the bar broke, dropping the entire tanker and causing way more damage...Anyone remember that?

Speedball, Nitro, and Stamford might have got the big press but Tony was ruining communities way before that. ... I always kind of understood why Tony was Pro-Registration because of things like that.
