Back in high school I was in several: Iron Weed, Fallen Angel, Whistler's Daughter. Bass Guitar and lead vocals. Mainly metal, thrash and hard rock. After those dried up switched to blues. I was only one of two bassist in my age range, so I got a lot of gigs. Most of the rest where way older or just did not play the type of music  would play. The singing helped a bit to.

I played in Iron Weed, Fallen Angel and Whistler's Daughter.  Never formally joined a blues band, just kinda hung out and sat in when a bassist was needed. Used to sit in with some old guys in Tallulah on weekends playing blue grass. THAT was interesting!

Still have not replaced my bass since the fire. Maybe the wife will read this and let me pick out a new acoustic bass for Christmas this year.
