Do you have a soundtrack for when you sit down to read your comics? Do you crank some drowning pool when you read wolverine? Does 'Stacy's Mom' accompany Ultimate Spider Man?

Write 'em down here.

I try to mentally immerse myself in the comic's environment, even to the point of having imaginary character voices that I hear in my head as I read a character's lines. Music and other external things are a distraction to me. I do prefer a cup of hot cocoa or a cold glass of iced sweet tea (depending on the time of day) but that is all.

What Navarre said re:voices.  when I read I imagine everything simultaeneously with my eyes taking in the words.  This sounds strange I know, but comics move under my gaze.  It starts as a static image and I imagi9ne how the movement pans out, kind of like the ironman motion comics I suppose.
I take in everything the author says about smells sounds and sights and process them at teh same time as the words are being understood and create a vivid mental picture in my mind.
Sometimes when I cant sleep I do it again, try and recall everything in a particular scene of a book until it is all there in my mind.
Helps me to relax and eventually sleep.

As for music, it really depends for me.  Mostly I like to read in silence to aid all of the above.

This.

I need silence to read most times.  I try to see a panel and translate it (as it were) to film in my head.

I have a small brain, so lyrics tend to confuse and frighten me when I'm doing anything else.

Instrumental music works as a way to drown out background noise, though.

I sometimes workout or run to music but never to read. Too distracting.

I can't run my PbP game at the same time either. I guess my brain doesn't do well with music except when I am driving. That's my favorite time to listen to it.

I often WRITE to music, especially comics and RPG campaigns. For my Exalted campaign my playlist includes Coheed and Cambria, Lion, the Avatar:The Last Airbender and Battlestar Galactica Soundtracks, and a bunch of other random stuff.

I wish I could do that. Driving and exercising seem to be the only two things I like to do to music.

If my girlfriend is expecting some tunage during the sweet love-making she'll be very disappointed.

Maybe some White Zombie though.  Wink
