Anyone have the chance to pick up Kill Audio #1 over the past week? I’m going to get mine this weekend and BOY I can’t wait.

Anyone who is a fan of the rock band Coheed and Cambria; this is a must read. It’s written by Claudio Sanchez (the singer of the band).

If you want to try something new; give this a shot fellow Spoiler Legion.

I can't say I'm seeing much in it that grabs me.  I'm not a fan of Coheed & Cambria at all ("Look guys- it's Rush with a generic metal sound and a worse singer that's trying to sound poetic!"), and the art is... well interesting for what it is I suppose.

And while I disagree with Rodrigo's assessment of music in comics such as Scott Pilgrim (the musical elements led to some of my favorite moments of the book, but that may just be that I'm a music buff), I think that when it gets to the point where only people who are really into music can appreciate it, there's a major problem in limiting your audience.

And I can't really think of a single example of when I enjoyed a writer writing about themselves.

Listen to Geddy Lee sing something, then listen Claudio Sanchez sing something. Preeeety similar.

I just find Coheed to be a cliched band that does stuff I don't find entertaining simply because I've heard it before.

....So what'd you think of the book?

I really dug the artwork, the story was alright and I'll be interested to see where it goes, but not amazing.
By the way that artwork is by Sheldon Vella who has done Supertron on Zuda and a number of other shorts for anthologies that you can find at his site: http://1984custom.respark.net/
