I participated in the 24 Hour Comics Day challenge, beginning yesterday morning at 9:00 am and finishing at 6:30 am this morning, falling 8 panels shy (152) of my intended goal of 160 completed panels (in 26 separate strips).

I created the comic at Bitstrips.com, the same site used for Major Spoilers Adventures.

Using the first random track to come up in iTunes once the challenge began, I ended up titling my comic 'I Don't Wanna Rock 'N' Roll Tonight' a song by The Donnas. Because of that each published episode has a song title for the strip title...

Read it in it's entirety here:

Funny yet serious. Poignant yet irreverent. It is a masterful dichotomy!

... Reminds me of a Thursday night in college.

I liked this one.  Last year's entry had a stronger character base, but a weaker climax.  This reminded me of your college experience.

Last year's had a major shift in focus at a critical point, which made the story a little more disjointed, which in turn rushed the ending(the weaker climax mentioned).  I stayed focused on the same characters in this one from start to finish giving the overall tale a little more coherence, and less chance of 'plot drift'.

I definitely liked this year's story better from an aesthetic standpoint, largely because Bitstrips introduced a few features not present last year (object scaling and keyboard shortcuts), and now I'm much better at using the tools available than I was then.

As to the reminder of my college years, I find the mind goes to some emotional and dark places in an exercise such as this.  Once fatigue sets in and you start feeling the hours pile up on you it becomes more and more difficult to keep the writing light.  I'd very much intended for this to be an episodic comedy of errors, with Eddie's drunkenness taking us on a series of wacky side trips, but at the halfway mark the drama took over and rode the story to it's conclusion.
