Saw Zombieland this week and must I say this is ONE hell of a good movie!! I love the overall feel of the movie; not to gory, not to romantic but WAYYYY funny!! I love the fact that this kid had “rules to follow” in the movie (alas I’ll make sure to memorize them cause I’m DEATHLY afraid of the zombie apocalypse)!! Also, I won’t spoil it but the BEST cameo by an actor is in this film!! It’s a MUST see!!

I give Zombieland 5 slices of meatloaf for overall entertainment value. At a 120mins; it’s at the perfect length (no dragging on and on and on i.e. Shaun of the Dead) and the cast was VERY believable. Zombieland has a lot of the funny haha, shoot em up blood n guts and surprisingly a ton of heart. Never thought I say that about a Zombie flick.  Plus Emma Stone…WOWZERS HOT!!!

Sound off if you saw the movie!! What did you cat’s think??

My wife chose this movie to see for her birthday Saturday before last, and she absolutely loved it. Your right, the cameo was one of the big surpises of the movie, never saw that coming!

While I loved Shaun of the Dead, this movie actually got me to go out and pick up Walking Dead Vol. 1 that night, so that's something extra!

I've had people for years telling me, "You HAVE to read this!", so naturally,I refused to.  Wink

I picked up the first trade and enjoyed it. There are some rough scenes, emotionally, not gore-wise. I was pleased, I'll be picking up the rest of them as I can. I wasn't flipping head over heels or anything, but I read it in one setting. The first trade is pretty short, maybe 4 issues? And it was affordable at $10. I'll be picking up the second this weekend.

Plus Emma Stone…WOWZERS HOT!!!

I had no idea who this was until you mentioned her. I looked up her picture.

She looks kind of like a non-crazy Lindsey Lohan with a bit of Vanessa Hudgens's smile. She has a particular quality I like as well but I won't mention it.

As for the movie, haven't seen it. I don't like zombie movies but this looks like the first one ever I'd like to see.

It's more of a romantic comedy but there are zombies....not at all like 28 Weeks, Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead, ECT. It’s a DAMN good flick!!

Agreed, take out the zombie's and make them smashing teddy bears or something else cutsey and it is a big romanitc comedy.

The previews didn't strike me as a romantic comedy as much as a light horror comedy. Do you think it was marketed correctly?

I mean, it did do well at the box office, right?

Most people believe it get's better with 4, as for the rough emotional stuff, it get's rougher. As for Zombieland, I haven't seen it yet but I've heard nothing but praise, I probably won't see it until it hits DVD but if people are saying it's as good, if not better, than Shaun of the Dead, I'm going to have to see it really soon.

IDK if it was marketed correctly. That’s a good question, it defiantly has a lot of flat out funny moments but it also has a good deal of romance and the trailer never showed that aspect of the movie at all.

It did well yes.

I saw another tv commercial for it just last night. It definitely looks like a zany horror movie. No hint of romance.

But the comedy/horror cross probably got not only guys but couples in to see it where the romance angle might have dissuaded guys looking to avoid any more "Twilight-undead" crap.

So I think they marketed it well, if not entirely accurately.

You went into an American movie with male and female characters and didn't assume there would be a romance? That's pretty much the first rule of cinema these days. EVERY movie has a romance, regardless of how tacked-on or inappropriate it is.
